On this tour you can select 1 (one) out of the 6 (six) different Palaces in Sintra to visit on the inside and then spend some time cruising along to see the rest from the outside, while stopping at certain viewpoints from the hills all the way until the coast.
As a local, with 5+ years of experience in the field, you can expect our guide Nuno to teach you not only about the history of the sites you're going to see, but to also include your group in the culture and tradition of the region so this way you will feel like a true local!

What To Expect
Park and National Palace of Pena
One of the most well-known attractions in Sintra and perhaps in Portugal. Sitting at the top of the Sintra Hills, it's privileged location represents the monarchy at it's high in Portugal. A magnificient and exuberant Palace stands in the middle of a 85 hectares (220 acres) natural park, considered by UNESCO a World Heritage Site. PLEASE NOTE: - Visiting the Grounds, Gardens or the Palace itself is optional, however if you wish to select this monument to visit on the inside, then it is highly recommended to purchase the tickets ahead of time, because they sell out. - The visit to the Grounds, Gardens or Palace is self-guided and you'll be given some free time to explore. - Tickets are NOT included in the price of the tour! - If you need assistance in choosing the time slot you can send us a message.
Castelo dos Mouros
Built by the Moors in the 8th and 9th centuries, it was an important strategic point during the Reconquista, and was taken by Christian forces after the fall of Lisbon in 1147. Considered to be the "crown" of Sintra. We will stop at certain viewpoints where you'll be able to see the Castle.

Meeting Point in Sintra: You will be able to meet up with your local guide at the Sintra Coffee Lovers Cafe besides the Sintra Train Station.

Palaces Highlights : With this option you'll be able to see the main Palaces from the outside at specific viewpoints, but not go inside.

5.00My friends and I had a great time with Nuno on our half day trip to Sintra. He stopped at the best vantage points and really timed it to avoid heavy traffic. Every question we asked about the area he enthusiastically answered and provided such a great overview of what we were seeing in real time. Even though there was a bit of traffic due to emergency, he ensured we made it to the must-see spots! We even got to experience a great restaurant he would go to with his family when he was a child. A stand-out day on our 10-day vacation.

5.00I booked this tour for myself, my husband and another couple. It was very easy to book. I asked a few questions via email before we even traveled to Portugal and they were always answered very quickly. The day of our tour, our driver Nuno, contacted us with his ETA and he was there exactly when he said. We had a choice to choose a palace to visit inside and we chose the Pena Palace. We booked our tour of the palace ahead of time with guidance from the tour company about what time we should book our entry. The time was spot on so we didn't miss a beat. Nuno was a wonderful guide. We couldn't believe how knowledgeable he was about literally everything! We learned so much about the people, the area and the culture. He gave us plenty of time to visit all of the areas on the tour and we never felt rushed. The town of Sintra was very charming. Once we walked up to the palace, it was beautiful with panoramic views of the area. We made it out to the coastline as well and it was also beautiful. We were all so happy we went on this tour. You can't go wrong booking it. Nuno was a fabulous guide. A++++

5.00Nuno our tour guide was very knowledgable and informative throughout the whole tour. He clearly knows the area very well. He was very friendly and chatty about everything we saw and gave us some great recommendations for restaurants. Even took us to a pastry shop to buy local pastries, giving us lots of information on local produce. Nuno allowed the tour to be flexible and gave us options to either go into the various palaces and gardens or stop and have free time in sintra. We opted for free time in sintra to grab a quick lunch, walk round the shops and try the local wine. We would definitely recommend this tour to get a taste of sintra. We will be back again to spend some time exploring the palaces in more detail. Thanks Nuno!!!

5.00Wonderful tour of Sintra and coastal area. Our tour lead Nuno was outstanding. Communication prior to the tour was excellent. Pickup at the cruise pier was flawless and he was extremely informative. Lots of suggestions about what to see and how best to see it including a delightful local lunch stop, beach side town and local winery. Great way to spend the day in Lisbon outside of the city.
