Park and National Palace of Pena
Guided visit to the Pena Palace and grounds (select ticket option ). The Pena Palace is one of the best representations of 19th century Romanticism in Europe. Being the second-highest point in the Serra de Sintra (over 500m above sea level), it will amaze you with its unique architecture and spectacular views. King Ferdinand II - the king-artist - fell in love with Sintra, and following the purchase of the property, decided to build a unique castle and park, with 500 plant species from all corners of the world. The palace incorporates Manueline and Moorish architectural influences, that together will give you an atmosphere of “a thousand and one nights.”. An unforgettable experience.
Centro Historico de Sintra
In the center of Sintra you can either stay in the village, view the National Palace or walk to visit Regaleira (tickets not included). Also, a great option is to stay, and enjoy the wonders of this beautiful medieval little town, walking the narrow streets, feel the local atmosphere and then grab a coffee and try local pastry "Travesseiro".

We traveled to Sintra/ Peña palace and Cabo Rojo with Pedro as our guide. He kept us well informed and was very knowledgeable for his age. I forgot my raincoat in his van and he contacted me and returned it to our hotel. We definitely recommend would recommend him for anyone traveling in Portugal.

Our Guide was Filipe, he gave us the most possible information, answered all our questions, gave best advises, all with a great sense of humor. The tour was perfectly timed and we were picked up and dropped as per schedule. Sintra and Pena Palace is beautiful, not to be missed and so is Cascais! Big thumbs up for to the tour company and Filipe!

While this is a long day, you get a lot out of it (including free time to wander - a must for me!). We wanted to see Sintra and the coast but didn’t want to rent a car. This tour hit the highlights, starting with the Pena Palace and then time to hit another palace or wander around the charming town of Sintra. After a stop at the westernmost point in EU (tbh, not a highlight for us) it was onto Caiscais, a cute seaside town, again with time to wander on our own. Our guide Pedro was delightful and engaging throughout the whole experience. He was really knowledgeable and shared lots of insights.

Fantastic day trip! David was an excellent tour guide with a great grasp of English and a sense of humour as well. The van ride with a small group of cool people left us relaxed and ready for our tours and exploration time. I would definitely suggest booking the Pena Palace your and the Quita Reglareira. Yes, you can take a train from Lisbon to Sintra for 5 Euros, but you miss out on the stories, history, culture a good company.
