Khe Sanh Combat Base

Explore 3 Key Historical Sites Along the DMZ Route: • The Rockpile A striking limestone hill that served as a U.S. Marine Corps observation post during the war. Located in a remote mountainous area, it offers a glimpse into the strategic military geography of the region. • Dakrong Bridge This bridge marks the beginning of the legendary Ho Chi Minh Trail. Surrounded by rugged mountains and ethnic minority villages, it represents both military significance and cultural depth. • Khe Sanh Combat Base One of the most famous battlefields of the Vietnam War. Here, you’ll visit the former airstrip, sandbag bunkers, and a small museum showcasing weapons, photographs, and stories from the fierce 1968 siege.

Really interesting tour out to Khe Sanh and the Vinh Moc tunnels. We particularly enjoyed the tunnels as it really gave us a feel for the living conditions inside (particularly the maternity ward).

I highly recommend this tour if you are interested in the American/Vietnam War. Our guide, Ms Thach, was very knowledgeable, and our driver, Mr. Trang, was great. We visited a few sites that were still standing from the war, toured Khe Sanh base, walked through an ethnic minority village, got a view of the rockpile, and walked through the Vinh Moc Tunnels. We walked over the bridge at the DMZ and toured some museums. It was a full day and very educational!

Impressive Tour! We saw and learned a lot about the Vietnamese history between 1946 and 1975. To see the places first hand and talk to people that experienced the war gives a whole new quality to otherwise abstract knowledge. highly recommended with a small caveat: the tour is long and it is lots of driving - for us it took about 10 hours but was totally worth time and costs.

Sam (our driver) and Hai (our Khe Sanh guide) were wonderful. I wish that we would have had Sam for our first day in Vietnam because we learned so much about the history and current culture of Vietnam. Sam was a safe and cautious driver and the vehicle was very comfortable. Be sure to ask for Sam And Hai for your tour of the DMZ and Khe Sanh.
