This is a private tour with a 7-seater van for maximum 6 guests.
Chania is a melting pot of civilizations and cultures, each invader leaving its mark on history, architecture and culture. Chania is the oldest continuously inhabited city in Europe dating back to the Minoan civilization. Our drivers are locals, know this place intimately and love sharing the knowledge.
We will drive around the city, visit the sights and enjoy a panoramic view of Chania. The monuments and buildings have so many stories to tell. Will explain the culture and traditions and how they formed the modern day city of Chania. We are not allowed to walk or guide in the old town with travellers, because our license is for a driving tour.
You could extend the tour, by choosing one option without extra cost for our time, either to a beach, archaeology museum, wine tasting or just spend more time in Chania.
Travelers can optionally extend the tour for 3 hours and visit a mountain restaurant for an extra cost.

What To Expect
Chania Old Town
Will drop you off at Talos square on the west side of Chania old town, which is more authentic and unspoiled. You will have around 2 hours available to walk around on your own in the picturesque alleys, explore the town, shop or have lunch.

5.00Our guide George was wonderful. He is friendly, well educated, travelled extensively, soft spoken and funny. He did not stop talking about various topics, on culture, traditions, nature, economics, politics, basketball, and so much more. He could make comparison between Greece, Europe, the US and the world and has a good understanding of current events (he studied Modern history and politics and has two MAs). This is not a history tour, boring with dates and events. It was extremely interesting, and we still visited the monuments and highlights of Chania old town. He was patient with us and stopped at shops to see and taste local products. We also visited the Commonwealth Cemetery from WW2 which was very moving. He responded to messages quickly, was punctual and flexible to our requests and our slow pace as we were a group of six older adults over the age of 60. I would highly recommend George and his company Niriis Tours.

5.00George was delightful, knowledgeable and very accommodating for our small group. We very much enjoyed getting such in depth historical information while on our tour. We also enjoyed an olive oil/honey tasting which was delicious and unexpected. George comes highly, highly recommended. 10 thumbs up 👍🏻
