Bertha's Beach
Part 1: Bertha’s Beach Gentoo Encounter Your adventure begins with a scenic drive from Port Stanley to the beautiful and unspoiled Bertha’s Beach, led by your friendly local driver-guide. Along the way, keep an eye out — you might be lucky enough to spot dolphins dancing in the waves or even catch a glimpse of a few King Penguins near the shoreline, although sightings of Kings are occasional and not guaranteed. Upon arrival at Bertha’s Beach, you’ll be welcomed by the sight of a large, active colony of Gentoo penguins. Watch these charming birds in their natural habitat — nesting, waddling, and socializing on the open coastline. Spend around 50 minutes enjoying the area. During your visit, a packed lunch will be provided, allowing you to dine in the peaceful surroundings while taking in the wildlife and views. This stop offers a perfect mix of relaxation, exploration, and photography, ideal for wildlife lovers and cruise guests seeking a premium yet authentic Falklands experience.
Gypsy Cove
Part 2: Gypsy Cove & Yorke Bay – Penguin Paradise After your visit to Bertha’s Beach, the journey continues to the scenic and historically rich Gypsy Cove and Yorke Bay — one of the Falklands’ most picturesque and accessible wildlife spots. Here, you’ll enjoy a guided walk with your knowledgeable tour guide as you observe Magellanic penguins nesting in sandy burrows among the coastal grasses, often seen waddling to and from the turquoise waters. Gentoo penguins are also frequently spotted in the area, and if you're lucky, you may even catch a glimpse of the majestic King Penguins, though sightings are rare and seasonal. Spend approximately 50 minutes at this location, with time to explore, take photographs, and soak in the stunning natural surroundings. The site also offers breathtaking views of the South Atlantic coastline and a glimpse into the Falklands' unique wartime history.
