Copper Queen Mine Tour
Explore the old mines of Bisbee, a 45 minute train ride takes you into the cavernous underbelly of the copper mine of the old west! you will see where the miners worked with their picks, loosening the ore bit by bit.

Great Insight into the Old West!

4.00Our guide was very nice and friendly and gave a lot of information about Tucson and the surrounding area. The Copper Queen Mine Tour was a great experience. The guides were former miners there and hearing the first-hand experience of someone who lived it was a unique opportunity. Tombstone was quite enjoyable. The gunfight re-enactment was so worth it and the town has been well preserved. I gave this a 4 out of 5 because the timing between the mine tour and the OK Corral show gave limited time to eat lunch, so bring a snack and find a restaurant after the show.

5.00This was an enjoyable trip for my husband and I. It leaves the driving to someone else while we enjoy the views and a bit of history of the area narrated by the driver. Our trip accommodated approximately 8 people in the van. We were fortunate to have the other occupants cancel their reservation except my husband and I and were given a private tour. We were able to see the town of Tombstone, the Ok corral, a reenactment of the shootout ( that was an additional fee to see the reenactment) visited Big Nose Kate Bar (where their employee unbeknownst to others was mining privately in his room at night. It is sectioned off for visitors to see at the bottom of the restaurant/bar) we were also able to visit Bisbee mine which consisted of an actual ride on an open air mini train ride into the actual mine. They will loan you a hard hat and vest with attached light to view inside the mine to see where the miners mined their product.

5.00Very knowledgeable staff, great telling of the story of Tombstone. Very cost friendly, stage coaches was clean and traveled the entire area.

4.00It was a little difficult to connect, but once I did, I really enjoyed my trip to Busbee and Tombstone. The mining visit (Queen Mine, Busbee) was very much fun, and informative. Tombstone was typically touristy, but fun. The van will hold up to thirteen, but I was lucky to have just me and the driver, Jeff. Jeff was very friendly, knowlegable, and informative. The trip isn’t cheap ($250.00), but I felt was worth it.

4.00Great guide who shared very interesting historical facts with us on the way down. Tombstone is fun to visit, but pretty touristy. Big Nose Kates was disappointing. On the ride back, I asked the music to be turned down (I was in the back); however it wasn’t and I had to listen to bad country music all the way back. The graveyard was disappointing.

2.00The driver was fine. She filled us in about the Native American & Spanish history for the whole Southwest on the relatively long drive to Brisbee. The reason I took this tour was because as a single person I thought I would be in a group to visit the sights but ended up it was just transportation to the two towns. We were on our own to figure out what was there to see after that. I could have driven myself, been much more comfortable and not have to be on such a tight timetable & have to walk to everything. (1 hour in Brisbee where we were encouraged to get coffee & 3 hours in Tombstone where I found out everything costs, even the gunfight & wandering around Boot Hill! Which we didn’t have time for). I took your tour from Las Vegas to Boulder & the Boulder Dam and it was 100% better!

5.00This day trip from Tucson was excellent. The tour left on time and the tour leader Mike provided loads of commentary and background to all the sites. Mike also allowed us to take photographs of sites on the way to Tombstone. We stopped in Bisbee and the time allocated was well enough to see everything. Tombstone was fun and there was so much choice on what activities to do. I recommend Southern Arizona Tours and Excursions and would check out some of their other tours if I had more time in Tucson.

4.00Our driver was great. Mike was very knowledgeable about the area and told some good stories and history about the areas that we saw. You get picked up in Tucson so it takes about an hour and a half each way…..You get dropped off in Tombstone and if you want to learn anything about that area, in depth, you have to purchase more tours in the couple of hours that you are there. We paid for the shoot out at the OK corral - a little hokey - but fun just the same. If you go - don’t miss Big Nose Kates Saloon - probably the best part of Tombstone. The shops are tourist traps…nothing upscale that I saw. I think kids would particularly enjoy seeing the “old west” - All and all and ok day - but wouldn’t do it again.
