What To Expect
Your guide will meet you inside The Mercado, next to La Estrella. A modern adaption of old world architecture within an expanding downtown, you can find everything from clothes to tacos.
Situated within Viente de Agosto Park sits a statue of a beloved and controversial General Villa. You will learn why this particular piece was gifted by the Mexican government and what role Pancho played in Tucsons rich history.

5.00The tasting tour was a high light of our trip to Tucson. Sandra was a wonderful tour guide and learned some interesting history about the city. The Sonoran hotdog was my favorite but enjoyed all of the tastings. The tour provided a glimpse of some cool areas of the city. Also met some people from all over!

5.005 stars for the Secret Food Tour! Our guide Ellie was so sweet and shared so much great history and food knowledge with us. The food was top-tier: the Sonoran dog is a must-try, and the elote pizza and tamale were equally fantastic. Such a great way to spend an afternoon!

5.00SO MUCH FUN! Steve was our guide and was training Sandra and no matter who winds up being your guide, you'll be in great hands. We love doing food tours in new cities because it gives us a real sense of the city, its culture, and where we should eat. There is a fair bit of walking, but you can rest (if needed) at each stop. While I cannot imagine doing it in 110* heat, I think it would still be worth it. This tour started in the Mercado San Agustin where we had a delicious gingerbread cookie (a little dry) and the absolutely delicious Sonora hot dog. I think we could have eaten those hot dogs for each meal! Then we went downtown and had some delicious herbal iced tea, some unusual pizza, some creamy ice cream and the best tamale we had while in the area (at The Monica). We were able to stay downtown after the end of the tour because of the free trolley that took us back to Mercado St. Agustin Highly recommend doing this tour!

5.00Our guide, Steve, was excellent. He was knowledgeable, answered all our questions, and had a great sense of humor. We had ten in our group which was a perfect size, and had a nice sampling from local food establishments. Weather was perfect, and we finished the day with a drive up Sentinel Peak for a view of the city. Book it now!

He was engaging, knowledgeable, and shared so much fascinating history about Tucson that added real depth to the experience. The tastings throughout the tour were excellent and thoughtfully curated, with a great mix of flavors and experiences. Everything felt well-paced and intentional from start to finish. There were only two of us on the tour, which made it feel incredibly personal and relaxed—almost like a private experience. Overall, it was a fantastic way to explore the city, learn its history, and enjoy some truly memorable bites. Highly recommend!

5.00I've done Secret Food Tours in Paris and Seville and they were great, but Steve's knowledge of Tucson's history and it's food culture coupled with his welcoming personality and sense of humor made this one the best yet! Not to mention, the food was delicious! I highly recommend doing this food tour if you are visiting Tucson. It was a wonderful way to explore the city, celebrate my and my sister's birthdays and get an authentic taste of the food there. Thank you Steve!
