Excellent one day overview of the local highlights. Rupert/Ruberto and Juan were wonderful. They were able to spot plenty of wildlife for us to see. Rupert was very knowledgeable about the country. The van was comfortable and it was a small manageable group. We were able to meet new people and enjoy the experience together. I would highly recommend this tour.

We were in excellent hands with Oscar and Eagle Eye Eric from Relax Day Tours. Also a special shout-out to Riverboat Captain Jordy. Cannot recommend highly enough. Returned to the ship exactly when promised without feeling the least bit rushed and knowing that we saw and experienced so much in about 6 hours. We probably saw every animal that was advertised at least once. Oscar was dedicated to giving us the best experience and we truly cannot thank him enough. Would give a 6 out of 5.

Although it rained almost continuously, it was a great and very informative excursion. With our guide Christian Eberl we had drawn the very big lot: Lovers and experts for nature!

The three crew members were outstanding. Giovani drove the bus, Jordy drove the canal boat, and Oscar was the main tour guide. They took extra time and effort to make the experience an excellent one. Giovani, at one point, pulled over to the side of the road because he spotted a young "perezoso" in a tree. Jordy did his best while on the canal to help us see the greatest number of animals and birds. He was extremely knowledgeable of animal/bird habits and habitats. That day we saw many birds and animals. Oscar was a tremendous guide. He had Giovani pull over near a banana plantation to better explain how that crop is grown and harvested. He was full of information about his people, customs, and history. We would heartily recommend using them for a tour!

What a great day with our guide Oscar and the driver Erik! Every part of the tour was great…especially the fruit stand visit and the stop next to a banana plantation. We learned so much!

We thoroughly enjoyed this excursion! Oscar, Jordy and Giovanni, who led this excursion, were knowledgeable and showed such respect towards the animals! We walked from the cruise ship out to the gates of the terminal where we boarded a bus full of cold AC! (Huge plus since it’s super hot!) We were given a short tour through the town of Puerto Limon and then we headed towards the canals In Torteguero. In the way there our bus driver Giovanni spotted a slot in a banana tree! Oscar out guide carefully guided us to the tree where we all stood amazed watching this beautiful creature in its natural habitat! We reached the canals and boarded a canal boat and Jordy, our captain, navigated the canals and with his eagle eyes we encountered howler monkeys, a sloth SUPER close up, caymans (a mother and babies!) and even a baby crocodile (along with many birds and iguanas and lizards!) When we get our fill of gawking at the sloth, we made our way to Cahuita National Park. (At the dock we enjoyed an ice cold coconut water for only $1USD!). On our way to the park, Jordy and Oscar explained the history of the major banana plantations and processing plants. We even stopped at a roadside stand and were given finger bananas to sample and also fresh fruit! We even bought souvenirs! Post card stamps are $3 but they’ll mail them for you! We reached the national park and some of the folks stayed at the beach and others went with Oscar through the ‘jungle’. It was a beautiful nature reserve and we saw Capuchin monkeys, yellow vipers, crocodile and beautiful flowers! Before turning back Oscar gave us some time to jump into the beautiful water or relax before we went back to the bus. Lastly- they even stopped at a local grocery store where we stocked up on local coffee beans and chocolates and cold drinks. (Totally recommend buying your coffee here and not the port!) on the way back to the ship Oscar had a quiz game challenging us to the knowledge he had given us throughout the day! He even had cool prizes for the winners (bag of local coffee and magnets!) We booked through Relax Day Tours’ website and recommend this for cruise ship passengers because they are so mindful of time and getting us back to the port!

This cruise shore excursion from Puerto Limon was great, even though it rained and rained! On the Canals we were able to see all kinds of wildlife in the trees such as sloths, howler monkeys, birds and iguanas. The drive to Cahuita offered interesting things to see including banana plantations. The National Park offered forest walk (so much rain!) and beach walk but the highlight for me was the sloths in the trees so close there. Amazing! Our guide was excellent and we had a stop each way for bathroom/ snacks. Recommend Relax Day Tours!

Our guide, Oscar, and driver, Giovanni, were both friendly, informative and excellent hosts. The boat guide on the canal with Jordi was awesome - we saw monkeys, sloths and baby caiman with their mom. The trail walk in Cahuita National Park was also excellent - we saw monkeys, crocodile and a couple of snakes - and the beach was beautiful. We also made a couple stops at local places which was great for grabbing a snack and some coffee to take home. Definitely recommend.
