The tour was beautiful and always recommended. Especially our travel companion Susanne was very good and our bus driver called in German the cat was very interested in showing us many animals in the wild. He spared no effort. Simply recommended 👍

A nice tour. The driver and guide were good. I didn’t like the fact that we were taken to places where the guide would get a cut. The canal trip was boring as we didn’t see much - in fact I fell asleep ! The worst was at the end of the tour we were taken to a beach for 30 minutes. In fact it was a restaurant where the guide was clearly getting a cut. After30 minutes when the other passengers hadn’t received their food (we didn’t want any - we were 5 minutes away from the ship) I asked if we could get a taxi then the guide said they would take us back (about 8 of us) and go back afterwards for the others

We had a marvelous day on our excursion. We had a little bit of trouble finding the pickup spot, but once we found it our day was great. Our tour guide took us through town with loads of commentary and stop at the local church. We had enough time at the fruit stand to enjoy the local food. Bring cash for shopping! They don't take credit cards. Our driver made plenty of stops to check out the sloths, birds, and other animals. The trip down the river was also good. Our last stop was at a local beach and restaurant for lunch. They took credit cards. The food was awesome. This is a definite winner of an excursion.

We loved this tour. We saw several points of interest including Fruit stand with lots of samples of local fruits and coffee. We went to a banana plantation and learned all about the workings of plantation and sampled several bananas. We went on canal boat ride where we saw sloth, monkeys, lizards and many different birds. Our tour guide Larry was awesome, very knowledgeable and shared so much of the culture and customs of Limon. Would definitely do it again on our next visit.

Larry, our guide, was great. Only 8 of us on this tour so almost private. Free bananas and coffee at a stop.

Excellent tour. The guide Cooper and driver Eric were very knowledgeable and experts at finding the camouflaged wildlife. We saw sloths, iguanas, crocodiles , howler monkeys etc up close

Tour company picked us up promptly at pier and off we went for a fun day. The stops at the church and fruit market gave us a feel for the area. Larry had a great wealth of information and presented it with some great humor mixed in. The banana plantation was well done and Larry really helped us understand all the ins and outs of growing, harvesting, etc. next was the canal ride and Larry was determined to find us as much wildlife sightings as possible and he more than succeeded. The beach stop was more rustic than expected. A tour guide can make or break the experience. Larry was top notch and made this the absolute best day. Highly recommend.

Extremely disappointing experience, particularly given all the positive reviews. Our first stop was a gift shop; the advertised “fruit tasting” was one “ladyfinger” banana. Our second stop was to park at the entrance to a banana plantation, where our guide, Ron, announced that he canceled the visit because people could have allergic reactions to spiders. Our third stop was overrun by tour buses and involved yet another gift shop. It was hot and humid so I asked for the promised bottle of water; our guide said there was none on our van. To his credit, he then bought water for everyone. Next was the boat tour on the canal which was the only interesting part of the tour. We saw sloths, iguanas, monkeys, and a baby cayman. Then we sped by Playa Bonita rather than stopping as promised. No explanation offered. Finally, we were driven to a restaurant in a residential neighborhood with a view of Limón. We were told we had 30 minutes there but we asked to leave after 5 as there was nothing to do or see. We were dropped off by a pharmacy in town. The promised visit to the supermarket didn’t happen; instead, it was simply pointed out to us. This was not my first visit to CR so I know it’s a magnificent country. But if this were your first time here, I could understand why you would never want to return.
