This 4-hours tour is the easiest way for you to have close-up contact with monkeys such as white-face, howlers and geoffrey´s tamarine. Plus the two toed sloths, three toed sloths, capybara, anteaters, caimans, crocodiles, turtles, manaties, bats, and a lots tropical birds like Rainbow-billed Toucan, Keel-billed Toucan, fiery-billed aracari, Snail Kite, White Hawk, Ospray, Limpkin, Tiger Heron, White Heron, as well as other aquatic birds such as Aramides cajaneus, Little Blue Heron, Purple Gallinule, and more. This lake is an ecological paradise not to be missed!.

Lake Gatun

The tour starts with hotel pick up in Panama City followed by a transfer to the Gamboa Marina. Once there, you will go on a 15-minute boat ride on the Gatun lake until you observe 3 kinds of Monkeys in a wild. Together with a guide, you will spend about 80 minutes observing the different species of monkeys. After the visit, you will go on a 15-minute boat ride back to the Gamboa Marina followed by a transfer back to your hotel.

    This tour is promoted as "wildlife" tour. In fact, after the bus transfer, you will spend the whole tour on a boat. They will drive you to some islands in the Gatun lake and there they attract "willd" monkeys with shouting, calling, pre-recoded monkey screetch, noise, peanuts, bananas and engine roar. The monkeys will then leave their wildlife habitat, come ashore, climb on the boat and pick peanuts out of the guest's hand. So instead of keeping wildlife wild, they train the monkeys to interact with humans and to likely depend more and more on this artificial food supply. Such interference with "wildlife" and such tours should be forbidden! Do not support such activities and do not go!

    This was a goo tour. Excellent tour operator who is bilingual in both Spanish and English. He's also funny. I liked thay they were timely and got us to our destination safely. The boat ride was relaxing and fun. We were able to see the monkeys and what nature had to offer. I would book them again if I were to do this tour again.
