What To Expect
Kompong Phluk
Begin your adventure with pickup from your Siem Reap hotel for the journey to Kompong Phluk. Depending on the season, travel by minibus (February to July) or by minibus and boat (August to January). Transfer to a small boat and set sail along the lake, passing stilted houses and schools, floating markets, pagodas, and fishing boats as your guide tells you more about local life, customs, and traditions. Wet-season visitors can also opt to enjoy a traditional canoe ride around the flooded forests (for an additional expense) and experience the region’s unique ecosystem as you glide between the semi-submerged trees. Back in Siem Reap, your tour ends with drop-off at your hotel.

5.00We had a lovely trip to visit Tonle Sap lake and the mangrove forest! We were picked up from our hotel in Siem Reap in the morning and enjoyed the ride down to the river. We then got on a boat and had a fascinating journey along the floating village, then transferred into a smaller canoe for a ride through the mangrove forest. We had a lovely guide called Chout and enjoyed the trip!

5.00We had the guide Chout and it was a very nice tour. First we stopped at the local market and our eyes looked out! Then we drive on and board the motorboat. We soon sail past the first houses on stilts, the hospital and also a school. A little later we swap the motorboat for a canoe and we are first through the mangroves (or are they just trees underwater? 😅) and through the village. Then we can have a drink and the motorboat is ready to sail us back to the driver. We are at the end of the rainy season so it is quiet and that makes the experience even more special

5.00We spent a wonderful afternoon with friends in the floating village. Chout picked us up from the hotel and we left by bus then we took a boat (about 10) so small group, the tour was very nice, we visited the village school, temple and village! Then sunset beautiful! I strongly advise you! Chout our guide answers all our questions so very practical!
