Salt Fields
Salt is another of Kampot’s important products. Ocean water is pumped into the pans from canals, then allowed to evaporate, leaving a thick layer of salt coating the ground. Workers rake the salt carefully into piles, collecting and moving it to storage. The salt field only operate in the dry season.
Phnom Chhngok Cave Temple
A well-tended staircase with 203 steps leads up the hillside and down into a cav- ern as graceful as a Gothic cathedral. There you'll be greeted by a stalactite elephant, with a second elephant outlined on the flat cliff face to the right. Inside the cave's main chamber stands a remarkable 7th-century (Funan-era) brick temple, dedicated to Shiva. The temple's brickwork is in superb condition thanks to the protection afforded by the cave. Phnom Chhnork occupies a bucolic site surrounded by a quilt of rice paddies and meticulously tended vegetable plots (tomato, cucumber, lettuce, cabbage, mint). The view from up top, and the walk to and from the wat, is especially magical in the late afternoon.

We had a great time with Phalla! He was kind and a awesome guide. Would use him again if we come back to Kampot. We booked just the first day through Viator than added a Kayak trip and waterfall hike.

We are glad we chose doing this tour with this company. Nak, our tour guide, was very friendly and helpful, not to mention funny too. He is the best they could give us. He drove safely, gave us detailed history of the places and was warm and welcoming throughout the whole tour. Would recommend this to anyone!

This was a really great way to spend an afternoon in kampot. Our guide Phalla was so informative and kind we really appreciated his care and attention to detail. The pepper plantation was really cool, loved it and you can spend as much time as you want chilling there. The view points are beautiful and the sunset at the salt farm was really one of a kind. It was the perfect afternoon. Would definitely recommend.
