2.00Not a good experience and we recommend you look elsewhere. Do some research on common scams in Sri Lanka. Don't buy gems and don't buy anything from the "spice gardens". Guides are commissioned to take you to fraudulent businesses. Lasantha acts friendly but it's not genuine. We specifically asked for things listed in the itinerary and instead we were brought to scam imitations of the actual places. A lot of tours like this do the same thing apparently. Maybe he used to be reputable, given all the other reviews. Maybe they just don't realize they were ripped off. But he certainly isn't reliable now. I contacted Lasantha after we did some research and learned the truth, and he never responded to my message. I think that tells you all you need to know about his character. Every driver and tour we had after this all tried to do the same thing. So it reflects less on Lasantha individually and more on the predatory nature of all the guides in Sri Lanka. So be careful no matter who you choose!

5.00Lasantha is an exceptional guide who in addition rides very carefully, is in constant care with you. It quickly understands what you want and adapts directly. He does not seek to charge you at all, and is concerned about your satisfaction. He likes to tell the temples and answer your questions. Ultra smiling!! A true love!!! Thank you Lasantha!!!!

5.00Lasantha was so considerate and full of great knowledge, yet delivered it in a way that was humble and kind. He is a real gentleman, very respective to us two female travellers, not at all overbearing or rude in any way. He listened to our interests and pivoted the day to accommodate us. When we first met and we mentioned that we were feeling a bit "templed out" and only wanted to see one this day - and when I happened to mention the Kandy War Cemetery for Commonwealth soldiers, he adjusted immediately to take us on a scenic journey to the beautiful gardens and then to a view point on a little road to be able to see a gorgeous remote temple on the other side of the valley. By doing this, he helped create the expectation of our adventure to that temple. When we got there, we basically had the whole place to ourselves - no crowds, fresh air, and Lasanta with his amazing - yet gentle - time management skills got us there in time for us to hear the monks playing music. It was a beautiful moment of peace and harmony. We felt so special. When he found out I was interested in bridges, he detoured to a number of places so we could view these amazing bridges and structures. We trusted him for the selection of our lunch restaurant - and it was really good food, safe to eat, clean toilet & a place where lots of local folks on their business lunches were eating. He was by far our #1 most favourite guide/driver in the two weeks that we travelled around Sri Lanka. Our fond memories of Sri Lanka will always include Lasantha. We booked him in advance because he listed a full day tour around the Kandy area such a reasonably low rate. We happily tipped him 400% because he was so amazing!!!!

5.00We had such an amazing family tour around Kandy with Lasantha! He's a wonderful and friendly person, always willing to help and adapt to our needs. We spent two days, the first visiting different corners of Kandy, with hardly any people around, which made us enjoy the experience even more. He even booked us tickets to a front-row show, so we didn't have to do anything, just let ourselves go. On the second day, he organized a perfect excursion to Dambulla and Sigiriya and did us the great favor of arranging transportation to our next destination. He's resourceful, cheerful, and knows all the secrets of Sri Lanka. Thank you so much for sharing these two days together. Highly recommended! He is such a friendly and knowledgable tour guide who took us to some more remote temples where we were able to enjoy the beauty and the peacefullness of Kandy's countryside. His itinerary was great and every place he brought us was absolutely beautiful. We couldn't recommend him enough!
