1.00The train from Kandy to Ellla is not working due rain damage. The Sri Lankan Railway approved the internet transaction and issued tickets. I’m not sure why they did this since the train is not operating. Now we need to get a refund in Colombo.

1.00They cancelled our reservation because “their system went down”. I booked it almost 1 month ago and just 2 hours before the start of the train ride they cancelled it with a refund. We now cannot take the train whilst it was our only opportunity while being in Sri Lanka. Such a bad service and would definitely not recommend!!

1.00We were looking forward to this train ride as one of the highlights of our holiday. We made sure to book the tickets well in advance. On the day of the train journey, we arrived at the station and showed our booking reference. We were told there were no such tickets in our name. It turned out that we had received an email at approximately 4am that very morning saying our tickets had been cancelled. Naturally, we did not see the email at 4am, and our train was supposed to depart that morning so we had no notice at all. It was incredibly disappointing and an utter scam to sell tickets that you neither have to sell, nor can guarantee that you will have to sell. It should be made explicitly clear that there is no guarantee of tickets, even though you have paid for them. I would absolutely not recommend this method of booking tickets at all. Do not trust this tour. We had to find alternative transport and this really messed with our itinerary.

1.00Ticket reserved and confirmed online. Then in the morning of the ride the message that there is no more space and I get my money back. Very annoying, as there were no tickets left at the station. Positive that I got a ticket at the station for the next train for 2 instead of 14€.
