Marangu Route is one of the oldest and most preferred routes on Kilimanjaro. It is the easiest path on the mountain due to its gradual slope and direct path.

It is the only route on Kilimanjaro as it has hut accommodations for the hikers making it popular among the tourists. Marangu Route is therefore also known as “tourist route".

Marangu Route has three hut accommodations: Mandara Huts, Kibo Huts, and Horombo Hut. These hut accommodations provide bunk beds. There are 60 bunks beds each at Mandara huts, Kibo huts, however, there are 120 bunk beds at Horombo Hut.

My wife and me had a great experience climbing Kilimanjaro on the Lemosho route (8 days) with Ungi Tours. We had a great team with 2 guides, a cook, experts for sleeping and toilet tent as well as many powerful porters. The organization was perfect. We got every help needed. The team tried everything to make us the trip as convenient as possible. Climbing Kilimanjaro it is all about the last day, starting at midnight at Barafu Camp at 4.673 m and climbing, climbing, climbing. Very happy we made it.

Me and my 6 friends successfully summited via Marangu 6 days route which was recommended by Faiza we wanted to sleep in huts and she recommended 6 days. Our successful summit was due to overwhelming support and service which was provided by Ungitours team, the crew were exceptional from waiter, porters, chef and guides. They dusted our boots every evening, guides checked our healthy twice a day to make sure we were in good condition to start the hike and after the hike, every served meal was delicious. Thanks to Faiza and Sabrina and the amazing crew. Highly recommend Ungitours.

Faiza she was superb, quick response we spoke on zoom and she gave a very detailed information about the marangu route 6 days we wanted the accommodation in huts reason we chose this route,the team was professional , attentive and kind . Overall great service . We highly recommend them .

We had about Ungitours from a a friend who did safari with them, we booked marangu 6 days we wanted a route with accommodation in huts ,Faiza was easy to communicate with and booking process was easy, plus we rented the gears from them as well, the hike was not as hard not easy as well you have to keep the positive mind set , the team helped us to reach the summit of Kilimanjaro safely . After we did 5 days safari with Joshua he was knowledgeable and good driver all the safari accommodation was super nice food was delicious was well, they provided us with wine, beer, soft drinks and snacks while on safari, it was sad to see other companies save lunch box, Ungitours went extra with the hot lunches and drinks. We can't recommend them enough.
