Meet your guide at your hotel in Siem Reap at 8 am. Depart in the morning heading north towards Kulen Mountain through approximately a 2-hour drive in an air-conditioned vehicle. Enjoy the scenic ride along the way as you pass through local villages and verdant tropical forest. You will visit Cambodia’s biggest Reclining Buddha carved on sandstone. The temple is located on top of the hill and can be reached through a flight of steps. Next you will set off to the sacred river of 1000 Lingas. The riverbed is interestingly carved with numerous lingas, a phallic symbol of the Hindu god, Shiva. You will also see some rock carvings along the river depicting Hindu deities. You will continue through another sacred site, the Phnom Kulen Waterfalls. Calm your senses by watching the waterfall tumbling down the rocks. You will have time to wade in its basin and opt to cool-off from the midday sun by swimming on its pool. Discover and learn more about the historical and cultural significance of Phnom Kulen as your expert guide walks you through each of these landmarks. Stop for lunch (at your own account) at a local restaurant along the way before heading back to your hotel.

Enjoyed our private tour to Phnom Kulen very much. Our guide Mr. Sophy was very knowledgeable, energetic and hepful. He showed and explained to us all the points of interest in the area, including the reclining Buddha, waterfall and the 1000 lingas in the river. We also had great conversations on the history of Angkor Wat and Cambodia with him. Our driver Mr. Borey was very skilled, professional and helpful to us as well. The vehicle was clean and in good shape. Thoroughly enjoyed the trip along with these two gentlemen to guide us. Will definitely come back.

Great tour of Kulen waterfalls and 1000 Lingas. We were lucky enough to have a private tour with Sorphea. He and our driver, Mom, promptly picked us up at our hotel. Sorphea was a wealth of knowledge , from the temples , Khmer culture and local flora and fauna. Not only did we get to see the natural beauty of Kulen Mountain, but also learned so much at the temple and 1000 Lingas. Cambodia is a rich tapestry of Buddhism and Hinduism. The tour was complete with a traditional lunch and palm cake tasting. Mom was an excellent driver : the car was clean & air conditioned. Mom was always available within minutes of completing a tour location and he navigated some tricky roads. Great day and great tour guides!

We really loved the tour and all its steps. It was an opportunity to discover a local market on the road away from tourism, immerse yourself in the crowds of locals and monks to discover the reclining Buddha, walk along the river enjoying its ancient engravings that rest at the bottom and feel the force of the water while swimming under the waterfall. We made the right choice by choosing the tour in private, which allowed us to take our time and follow our own pace. Our guide Sorphea was an integral part of this good experience. We appreciated his knowledge, his humanity, and finally felt like we were accompanied by a distant cousin with whom we were comfortable and confident instead of a stranger. For the first time, we felt like we were touching something authentic and not just touristy. If we have the opportunity to come back and visit, it is with him that we will ask to be.
