We have been to Como several times before, but this food tour was absolutely worth it. It offered a completely new perspective and introduced us to the regional cuisine in a very authentic way. We learned a lot about local culinary traditions and discovered traditional restaurants. Janis was knowledgeable and it was fun. A great way to explore the city beyond the usual sights — highly recommended!

Janis was an amazing storyteller, combining short tidbits about Como’s history and art, all the different food and the people behind it, and taught us different words in Italian. Would book with her again in the future.

A delightful afternoon. We were a small group, so easy to chat and ask questions, and it was an easy walk. There were five stops and ample food. I particularly enjoyed trying to the buckwheat polenta, which was a first for me and the chestnuts and zabaglione ice cream. Janis, our guide, was friendly and very knowledgeable, providing lots of tips and recommendation for those of us staying longer.

Janis did a very nice job explaining the food, the shops, geography of the région and gave us lots of tips. Wish I had more time to explore. Some of the reviews complained that there wasn’t enough food but we thought it was more than enough. We especially enjoyed the wine shop and went back after the tour for a longer tasting experience. Only one glass of wine was included in the tour but there was opportunity to buy more as desired. Definitely try the filletto at the wine shop! Pizza was Roma style with very light delicious crust. Had rabbit polenta and raviolis for lunch and finished off with espresso and nuvoloso! Yummy day and a nice introduction to the city.

We were so excited for our food tour in Como, it was the morning after arriving late and we looked forward to finding out more about Como, little hidden gems and just knowing more about the city. We are a group of friends that book European trips 1/2 times a year and always book in for a local tour. We certainly sampled lots of food- but all very quickly after each other, the tour felt really rushed and if I am honest like our guide was just waiting for it all to be over, we've never had such an awkward tour. We're a fun and equisitive bunch so we normally have a great time with tour guides. I wonder if our guide was having a difficult day maybe, I have seen another review for him so maybe that's what it was. We did feel disappointed though. It wasn't cheap and we hoped it would be like tours we've had before. We had one lovely glass of wine included and the rest was water- which did not feel how the tour was pitched with options of beer, wine and soft drinks. We ordered a bottle of wine with dinner (there were 6 of us) - then another which we expected to pay for, but was charged for both. Again other tours elsewhere have offered food and drink across the tour. The food we sampled was lovely, crispy polenta was new to us and we enjoyed, the charcuterie in the wine shop lovely, stunning gelato and finished with a lovely coffee, we also liked the experience of the crispy pizza. Our tour started at 11 but finished very quickly at 2pm. The booking stated approx 4 hour tour. It just wasn't all we'd hoped. But the food was great and the places we visited.
