Damajagua Waterfalls
The Damajagua Waterfalls, also known as the 27 Waterfalls of Damajagua, are a series of natural waterfalls and pools located in the northern part of the Dominican Republic, near Puerto Plata. Visitors can hike through the jungle, jump, slide, and swim through these cascading falls, making it a popular spot for adventure tourism and eco-tourism. The waterfalls were amazing. The guides were amazing. Our driver Aribel was the best. He did a side tour to umbrella street and pink street for us. The hike was moderate and the slides and jumps weee exhilarating. The monkeys weee so cute and friendly. Knowledgeable staff. Highly recommend

An experience worth looking forward to again! All of us were treated with courtesy and kindness and everywhere we went, all of the events were run smoothly and professionally. We traveled around with Darwin as our driver and guide. He was very communicative and friendly and adapted to the changing time of our Cruise Ship departure. We will definitely look forward to doing this experience again. We truly felt honored to spend the day with the people we met.

Darwin was an amazing tour guide! He made sure we had what we needed and knew important information. Between the water slides and monkeys, this was definitely worth it!

The Monkey experience was so much fun! They were so cute and it was so fun to watch them run around everyone. That and the birds were the best part!! The waterfall experience was not what I was exactly expecting. It was so busy with so many people, we stood around a lot. The ride to the experience was cramped and wasn't an open air tour bus. Also good quality water shoes are a must!! You want the kind with a thick rubber bottom or gym shoes. The ground to climb up and in the water is all rocks and you need a good steady shoe to keep your feet from hurting. I was under the impression from speaking with the guide beforehand that you could pick and choose what waterfalls and slides you did but that was not the case. Once you climbed to the top, the only way down was to slide or jump. So know up front, once you start, there is no going back!!! However, once we got to slide and jump portion, it was so much fun!! Just make sure you commit to the last waterfall jump or the landing will hurt!!

Really fun, much more strenuous than expected. Lots of walking and no choice if you want to do the slides or not. Would recommend for a neat, new experience.

Great experience! Convenient pick up from our cruise port, friendly drivers, and return to our ship in plenty of time! Waterfall and monkey house excursion was a blast that the whole family loved.

Wow this was amazing! It can be intimidating to go into non-cruise port/non resort areas but Ariel and Yeury had a very professional business and the ride felt safe. The taxi drive stays with you the entire time- he is waits while you do the falls and then during the monkey interaction. The hike up was strenuous however if you have issues there are easier paths they can take you on. SUCH fun waterfalls to slide down and cliffs to jump off!! The monkey interaction was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Our guide was so fun and friendly and taught us a lot and took so many amazing pictures.

We loved our experience! It was such an adventure and a bit out of our comfort zone, but still awesome. We did the waterfalls & the monkeys which was estimated 4.5 hours - which actually took us closer to 5 hours. On the waterfalls, you will hike intermittently up steps and level ground for 30 mins and then the last 10 mins down steps to get to the falls. The steps are slippery so be careful. This hike is a loop so you have to follow the river - that means either walking through the river, jumping the waterfalls, sliding down the waterfall, or taking a ladder( not always an option). There is no place to put belongings once you are on the hike so bring a dry bag or else it's getting wet. There are lockers for free at the beginning of the hike. The only downside to the hike was the pace, there was a group of about 75 people all going together so we had to stop and wait for slower individuals to catch up every 5 mins. If there were smaller groups, we could have gone through much quicker. However, I'm sure there is a method to the madness bc there were a lot of people hiking the falls that day. Additionally, due to the dry season, we only ended up doing 4 falls instead of 7 which was a bit disappointing. The monkeys were amazing, we loved the interaction. The monkeys are very friendly and will crawl all over you for food. They may even pee or poop on you so be prepared. We were handed off to about 6 different people through the event so it's was a bit challenging when it came to tipping. Overall, the people were incredible. Super kind and made sure we were always having a good time. They were all so funny and communication was great throughout! Definitely recommend!

If you got to the top, be advised it is straight walking up a mountain for 45 minutes. It is terribly physical and in water shoes, which are not made for hiking. The natural rockslides are fun, but the water is deep. No one to help less experienced swimmers. It was very disorganized at the beginning too. People with children can only go to one. If I had known, I probably wouldn't have booked this tour. The monkeys were cute and we enjoyed that.
