Conserving the decorative style of an Islamic mosque, construction of the magnificent monument began in the 8th century. Later extensions vastly increased its size, turning it into the second biggest mosque in the world before it became a Catholic cathedral.

3.00The visited sites themselves are stunning and would have benefited from a better tour guide. The English speaking guide speaks broken English with a strong accent and none of us was able to follow the contents. The pace was slow partly because we couldn’t understand what he’s telling us. We’d rather spend that time waiting around on exploring the palace garden. All in all, not great experience and not good value for money in our view. Hope other visitors have a guide who speaks English more clearly.

5.00My husband and I visited the Mosque-Cathedral in Cordoba a number of years ago. What a difference having a guide to this extraordinary place made. As with all the other Viator guides we have had, our guide was very knowledgeable. We learned a lot about the building itself and even more about its history over the years. He was very open to answering questions. It was a wonderful experience.

3.00This is the 2 time I go to the Mosque, the 1 was with another operator and it was an amazing visit. He explained everything and we saw everything. This time I wanted the same operator to show my daughter the mosque as a gift but it was full and I chose it. And honestly having the above reference seemed expensive, and didn't teach us half of the Mosque was like "express visit". It was dedicated to history, period, the Mosque has many cabins and things to see, and okay I can understand that you have some time to explain but after they did not let us stay inside to visit the rest, we had to leave. Overall very disappointing and expensive

5.00We visited the Mosque-Cathedral in early October, and it was absolutely amazing! The architecture, history, and atmosphere were all incredible- it's one of those plac es that really takes your breath away. Our guide was knowledgeable and made the visit even more interesting with great details. The place is a must see if you visit Cordoba.
