What To Expect

Your private guide will meet you at Kusadasi port or hotel with a sign written “ Your Name “ on it, at pre-arranged time. After greetings, drive to Ephesus in around 25 minutes.

Ancient City of Ephesus

After greeting, we will have 20 mins drive to Ephesus area. We will start visiting one of the main highlights in Turkey, Ephesus, one of the 12 cities of Ionian League (an ancient Greek district on the western coast of Asia Minor) is located near Izmir. As a port city it was a major departure point for trade routes into Asia Minor. Walk through history along marble streets lined with wonderful public buildings, among them The State Agora, Odeon, Memnius Monument, the Temple of Domitian, , Polio Fountain, Curetes Street, The Trajan Fountain, The Baths of Scholastica, Hadrian Temple, Latrina, Celcus Library, the gate of Mihridates and Mazues, Commercial Agora and The Grand Theater are two of the most impressive buildings in Ephesus. Grand theatre was built in 3rd century B.C and it was later expanded to 24.000 spectators by the Romans in the 1st century A.D.

We toured the ancient city of Ephesus and the Terrace Houses with Nejdet and had a great time. Nejdet was very knowledgeable, friendly, and funny. We learned so much about the city. We also had a delicious authentic Turkish lunch and then learned how rugs were made. I know some people have said they were pressured to buy, but they didn’t pressure us at all. We didn’t end up buying.

The excursion was completely seamless, we disembarked our ship and found our name on a board just outside the ship, we were directed to our guide who was called Koray, he was wonderful . We had a really fancy van to take us to Ephesus with leather seats and airconditioning and complimentary bottles of water . Our guide Loray took us around Ephesus and even though it was very busy there , he kept us away from the queues. We had a lovely lunch with typical Turkish Mezze and we were dropped back to the port . It was a perfect day out !

We had the absolute BEST day in Ephesus thanks to Zeynep and her wonderful driver! From the moment we stepped off the cruise ship (early, mind you!), Zeynep was already there—waiting for us a full 30 minutes ahead of schedule and completely ready to go. She had planned our itinerary based on what we sent in ahead of time, but still made a point to check in with us right away and see if we wanted to make any changes. Everything about the day felt perfectly timed and thoughtfully arranged. She did time checks throughout the tour to make sure we’d get to see everything on our list without ever feeling rushed. The highlights? So many! Touring the ancient ruins, the terrace houses, and the Temple of Artemis was incredible—and Zeynep brought it all to life with fascinating historical details, helpful context, and just the right touch of humor. She’s not just knowledgeable—she’s engaging and fun. She also took us to a delicious, authentic local restaurant for lunch (one of our favorite meals of the trip!) and a fantastic artisan shop where we got to see local craftsmanship in action. Every stop felt meaningful and well chosen. This experience far exceeded our expectations. If you’re planning a visit to Ephesus and want a personal, thoughtful, and super knowledgeable guide, we HIGHLY recommend booking with Zeynep. She truly made our visit unforgettable!
