Explore Oslo with a passionate, independent guide.
Discover modern gems, dive into Oslo’s rich history, enjoy fjord views & get great tips for local hotspots.
Why choose this tour?
As an independent guide, I've created my own tours, driven by my passion for Oslo’s rich culture and history. After years of designing itineraries/scripts for tour companies, I’ve created 'Oslo By Heart' tours to offer a more personal, authentic experience. Unlike the generic tours provided by companies that subcontract local guides, Oslo By Heart tours are thoughtfully crafted and full of personal insights and stories.
Oslo By Heart just launched on Viator/Tripadvisor, so reviews are few, but I am highest rated on other booking platforms (google me).
My average tour group is 2-4 people.
Suitable for:
* Solo Travellers
* Couples
* Groups
* Photo takers

* Anyone who wants a unique, personal experience with a focus on culture and history

Bring comfortable shoes and weather appropriate clothing
We will be 95% on asphalt, but there is one short gravel path and one short stretch with cobble stones at the fortress
If you book the optional Vigeland Park extension, the park can be muddy if it has been raining, so bring appropriate footwear. In the winter, Vigeland Park is sometimes too icy for a comfortable visit. I can possibly give you spikes for your shoes, contact me in advance if you are unsure of the conditions.
Customers need to be able to walk at a reasonable speed
For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.
Tram tickets are included if the Vigeland Park option is booked, as we will take a quick tram ride there.
Snacks & drinks not included but can be bought along the way
Oslo Opera House
As we move along the waterfront you will learn fascinating details about the comprehensive urban development that has shaped the Bjørvika district, and which includes the Munch Museum, the Opera, and some other buildings that may surprise you.
We look at the ever expanding floating sauna landscape, and some other fascinating projects uniquer to Oslo.
Vigeland Sculpture Park: After the city tour, we'll visit the world's largest sculpture park created by a single artist. Only at 10am in the winter.
Duration: 3 hours 15 minutes: We'll get to the park by a quick tram ride. Tickets included in tour price. This option adds an hour to the tour.
Ends at Vigeland Park
Duration: 2 hours 15 minutes

The 4-hour tour of Oslo was fantastic! We have seen all the important highlights – from the Opera House to Frogner Park and the Royal Palace. Our guide Romy was friendly, competent and brought the city alive with lots of interesting information. A perfectly organized tour that I can really recommend! A great and interesting tour with Romy. Thank you!

Romy did a fabulous job! It was just like walking around the city with a close friend, having a wonderful chat about all things Oslo! I was the only person that signed up for the tour and was delighted she ran the tour with just one. She was very knowledgeable, answered all my questions, and we kept a comfortable pace walking around the city. I highly recommend and would encourage all to book her, you won’t be disappointed. Her tour is also more intimate and there is not following someone with a headset or flag!

I was in Oslo with my mother for a day and we had booked this tour. We were lucky and even alone with Romy. She is really a great guide with an incredible historical knowledge that she imparts with a very personable and relaxed manner. It was like a walk with a friend who tells you exciting stories and backgrounds. We have seen many sights in Oslo and learned a lot about the history. Especially recommended is the visit to the Vigelandpark, where she could tell us a lot about the creation and the sculptures. Thank you for this exciting tour!

Romy has guided us very well and informatively through Oslo. We looked at each other in the almost 2.5 hours most important points and learned a lot about the story.
