The purpose of the tour is to introduce you to the city of Papeete and the island of Tahiti with a particular look at local life, history and culture of Polynesia. The knowledge and personal history of the Polynesian attendant makes this an atypical and personalized tour.
The discovery of the city of Papeete will last approximately 1 hour, then you will have the choice of a 2-hours discovery of the East or West part of the urban area around Papeete. It extends from the commune of Mahina to Paea and is full of very different sites which will transport you to part of the diversity of Tahiti.

Tahiti
Tahiti can be discovered either from the east coast or from the west side of Papeete between the districts of Mahina and Paea. There are many places to discover and your guide will personalize your tour to offer you a discovery that meets your expectations.

5.00You will have the best, most knowledgeable guide and safe driver! We enjoyed the tour even though we did not get to visit the market - my reason for taking the tour! It was closed for cleaning-I would have appreciated knowing this ahead of time.
This man really knows how to bring history to life and we highly recommend his services.

5.00We had the pleasure of meeting Christian, a local Tahitian, on our last day in Papeete. He gave us a private tour of scenic places in Papeete that tourists don't usually go to, providing current and historical information about them. En route to other locations, he talked about his own personal history and provided interesting stories about his late relatives. At Marae Ta'ata, he gave more insight into life in ancient Tahiti and pointed out the flora and fauna that were there. At the conclusion of our afternoon tour, Christian dropped us off at the Intercontinental Resort (his suggestion for us). We enjoyed a drink at the bar and watched the beautiful sunset over Moorea island before heading to the airport for our flight home. It was the perfect ending to our French Polynesian trip.

Christian was a great guide and provided excellent historical and cultural background information related to the city of Papeete, Tahiti as an island, and other islands in French Polynesia. He was very knowledgeable about many subjects and was accommodating towards any requests we had. A great start to our French Polynesian vacation.

5.00Christian-A Great Guide! On time pick up at my hotel. Tourism has been his life long career, so he is very knowledgeable about the history and culture of Tahiti. He’s lived a long time in Papeete. It was so cool to be on tour with him and run across and meet some of his local friends, who were all friendly and very welcoming to me. He was always quick to introduce me. An added attraction for me to meet some locals! The guide was very accommodating and flexible to allow me to choose from things he recommended to see. We went off the beaten path to some places others don’t get to see. Like a stop atop a hill that overlooks all the city and port. He is extremely personable and I really enjoyed this tour by him. I highly recommend this tour and this tour guide! I had a very memorable experience!
