Peninsula Valdes
We’ll be waiting for you at the Port of Puerto Madryn to start our excursion to Península Valdés. Our first stop will be at the Istmo Carlos Ameghino Interpretation Center, where you'll learn about the peninsula's flora, fauna, geology, and historical events. From the panoramic viewpoint, you’ll enjoy impressive views of Golfo Nuevo, San José, and Isla de los Pájaros. Depending on the time of year, weather, and tides, we’ll visit points of interest such as Caleta Valdés, Punta Cantor, and Punta Norte. Here, you’ll be able to observe elephant seals, penguins, and sea lions, and you’ll have the option to enjoy lunch. In some seasons, you may even spot orcas in action. If time permits, we’ll also visit a nearby penguin colony or the sea lion reserve in Punta Norte. If conditions don’t allow for a visit to Punta Norte, we’ll head to Punta Delgada, to visit a historic lighthouse and an elephant seal colony. Finally we’ll return to the meeting point at the Port of Puerto Madryn.

85% of the excursion is spent riding in the shuttle, through desert-like terrain. We were 45-50 minutes late departing because we waited for a group of 4 to show up. The shuttle was packed to the gill, not even allowing for the guide to have a seat. She had to stand by the door the duration of the trip. Neither the AC nor the guide's microphone worked well. We were asked to pay for the national park entrance fee ticket before the van left the port. They wanted 47,000 Argentinian pesos or $35 US dollars cash. I specifically questioned the $35 as it didnt match the conversion rate. Because of that, we paid by credit card. They "conveniently" had the tickets with them on hand. The price on the tickets said 30,000 Argentinian pesos and the Valdez Peninsula website (which we checked later that evening) said $30 US. We were also told that the restaurant we would be visiting only took cash. Another tidbit that would have been nice to know beforehand. The guide was friendly and gave it her all but save yourself some time and money and rent a taxi.

Overpriced food. Otherwise, an amazing experience. The food was too expensive though, 300 dkr per adult inside Legoland. Bring your own food! Great that you can have a map in the app and see attractions and how far to walk.

The tour actually exceeded our expectations. Our guide Sebastian was a genius, he knew a lot about everything: the animals, the history of the place, the geography... and he explained it with passion and a lot of patience. You could tell he enjoys what he does, and that makes all the difference. We were lucky enough to see a lot of animals in their natural environment, in a landscape that leaves you speechless. Sea lions, guanacos, maras, elephant seals... and even whales! All in a quiet environment, without crowds, that makes you connect with nature for real. It was a long day, but one that you enjoy from start to finish. I recommend it without hesitation to those who want to know Patagonia from a more real, wilder side, and with people who really know what it does.

Excellent tour of the Valdez Peninsular with guide David. Expect some fast driving on gravel roads for some of the journey and lots of wildlife. We saw Lesser Rhea and Elegant Crested Tinamou, Megallanic Penguins, Elephant Seals and Sealions. Exploring by myself at stop-offs gave a host of other birds too.

We took a family trip to Punta Tombo to see penguins, as my son loves them. At first, we had a lot of doubts about how close we could get, but we were surprised to be able to walk on trails where penguins crossed just inches from us. The service was excellent; both Guide and driver were very attentive throughout. I highly recommend this experience for cruisers. We were worried that the tour would be too long, but, as we were told, they are cruise specialists and everything went according to plan. Thank you! In the end, they gave us a chocolate penguin
