What To Expect

Departure from your hotel in El Calafate around 10:00 a.m. to the imposing Perito Moreno Glacier, located in Los Glaciares National Park. During the journey, you will cross the Magellanic Peninsula, where you will have enough time to explore this fascinating natural ice formation. The tour begins with a walk through the park’s network of walkways, which stretches for 4 kilometers (2.5 miles). From different levels and viewpoints, you can admire the glacier from various perspectives, enjoying panoramic and unique views. You will have 3 hours to walk the walkways and, if you wish, you can take the opportunity to pause and have lunch, either with a picnic or at one of the nearby restaurants. Afterwards, you will embark on a boat ride of about 1 hour, approaching the imposing wall of the glacier. At the end of the tour, you will return to El Calafate by the same route, arriving in the city in the afternoon.

It was a wonderful experience. I highly recommend it. Even though I went during the winter, it was still very much worth it and the boat tour was fantastic too.

The tour included a boat ride that brought us up close and personal to the Glacier which gave us a chance to take amazing pictures. We also had the chance to take aerial photos and appreciate the Glacier at a different vantage point. There was plenty of time given to us to appreciate the Glacier.

The glacier has to be seen to be appreciated, amazing! Our guide Veronica was knowledgeable, friendly and professional. Breaking down the information about the flora, fauna and the glacier itself in English and Spanish. I also elected to do the boat cruise and it was money well spent. I highly recommend this activity.

Beautiful boat ride up to the glacier. Easy to get to and then choices for trailed hikes based on length of hike and difficulty was fun and beautiful view of the glacier.
