Learn how to prepare the most famous sauce in Liguria: PESTO!! We do everything by hand, with pestle and mortar, using only selected ingredients!
We will be in a typical cellar of the Cinque Terre, furnished with stone and wood, a dip in nineteenth-century Vernazza!
12:30 PEST CLASS
We will start with a wine tasting accompanied by focaccia, cheeses and extra virgin olive oils, prepare pesto in a mortar tasting the second wine, eat pesto gnocchi in a mortar with a third wine and finish with limoncino and chocolate!
15:00 OR 17:30 PESTO CLASS SNACK
We will start with a wine tasting, we will prepare pesto in a mortar tasting the second wine, we will eat pesto accompanied by focaccia, cheeses and extra virgin oils with a third wine and we will end with the shoe of bread in a mortar!

What To Expect
We will learn how to make pesto with a mortar according to the ancient Ligurian tradition, we will taste 3 Cinque Terre wines and 3 extra virgin oils, accompanied by focaccia, and cheese, the pesto made by you will be used at 12.30 to season the gnocchi and we will end with limoncino and chocolate, while in the snack of 15 and 17:30 we will make a shoe with bread and focaccia!

2.00The pesto we made was yummy, but I did not find this experience to be worth the price. We were given the ingredients and told how to make the pesto, but nothing really happened beyond that. When my mom asked questions, the teacher seemed a bit annoyed and said things like "I was going to explain this later but since you keep asking for it earlier, I'll tell you". The experience description mentioned another activity after the pesto making, but that never happened. The teacher just sort of walked away after we finished the pesto and didn't speak to us again, leaving to go chat with a friend at another table. Additionally, the wines were supposed to be spaced out but instead she just gave us two at one time at the end. This wasn't a cheap activity and I expected a bit more from it.

5.00This was a fun and authentic experience. Highly recommend! The host was well informed, friendly and able to lead the group. My 16-month old was getting restless and she was invited to the child's birthday party outside instead! Everyone in our group had a blast and the wine was a nice touch :-)
