Your Archaeological Guided Tour starts from Porta Marina with the imposing Mount Vesuvius watching over us, we’ll explore Pompeii’s political and social heart: the Basilica, the Forum and its bustling market, and the city’s most important temples. Strolling along the Decumanus Maximus, you’ll follow the footsteps of ancient citizens as daily life unfolds before your eyes.
We’ll enter elegant private houses, wander through shops and Roman taverns, and pause before the haunting plaster casts of the victims. The journey continues through the Theatre and the Gladiators’ Barracks, where echoes of spectacle and power still linger.

What To Expect
Pompeii Archaeological Park
Porta Marina Superiore: the guide will be waiting for you outside the archaeological park with the sign “Pompeii Vip”. It forms the western entrance to the city and the name "Marina" comes from the fact that the outgoing road led to the sea.

5.00The experience was absolutely breathtaking, truly a once-in-a-lifetime wonder. We both enjoyed every moment. Our guide, Ornella, was exceptional: incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and deeply passionate about Pompeii's history. You could genuinely feel the empathy and heart he brings to telling the story of such a beautiful yet tragic place. His passion brought history to life and turned the tour into something truly inspiring. I cannot recommend Ornella enough.

5.00Highly recommended & perfect in the off-season. Less crowds! Rafael was a great & knowledgeable guide. Took us to great spots & very informative. Pompeii would be difficult to do w/out a tour guide as you'd have no clue what you're looking at (unless you studied up or our a history buff). Went w/ my husband & 2 sons (ages 11 & 14) and they really enjoyed it. Highly Recommended

5.00Our guide Raffaele was incredible! So knowledgeable and more than willing to answer all our questions! He even made sure that we knew how to purchase tickets for Mt. Vesuvius (because they don’t sell them there and you can only get them online, which we did not know!) and even offered suggestions for dinner. Would absolutely recommend this archaeologist led tour to anyone.

5.00We were so fortunate to have Raphael Romano guide us on a two hour tour of the ruins. Weather was wet/windy, but Raphael knew where and when to tuck into secret covered shelters all the while educating us on the ruins. Fun, factual, enjoyable.

3.00Our guide was very knowledgeable but continued to talk about the same things over and over again. My earpiece didn’t work at all and he said he would get somebody to get me a new as we move through the tour but that did not happen. No apologies. No refund wouldn’t use this Guide again.

His knowledge was incredible, often asking questions of the group to help explain his points either regarding the area, artefacts or even our common words that had variances in Latin, Greek or Roman. One of the best tours I’ve ever done.
