Do you want to see the ruins of Pompeii? Do you want to visit corners of the city where tourists don't arrive? Explore the ancient city, its ruins and take a trip back in time.

From there looking at the volcano, the Mt. Vesuvius, we will pass through the Antiquarium, where I will show you the objects found during the last excavations, such as the coin that changed the date of the eruption.

Continuing we will pass through the Basilica, the Forum with the market and the main Temples ... we will walk through the decumanus major.

We will explore some of the most beautiful homes.

The visit will continue through stores and shops, roman restaurants, a visit to the famous bodies, Theatre, Gladiators' Barracks.

PLEASE NOTE: Entrance fees to the archaeological park are NOT included, but we send a link to purchase them online between the afternoon before the tour and the morning itself, so don't worry!

What To Expect

Pompeii Archaeological Park

Porta Marina Superiore: the guide will be waiting for you outside the archaeological park with the sign “Pompeii Vip”. It forms the western entrance to the city and the name "Marina" comes from the fact that the outgoing road led to the sea.

We had a wonderful trip with our guide Ornella - and we were fascinated by her knowledge and interesting stories! With great humour and esprit our guide described the life of the romans and the special functions of different houses and areas in Pompei! I would definitely recommend it and book it again! 2hours are passing so quick - ask for Ornella!

Great experience to learn about the history of Pompeii. Our tour guide (can't remember her name) was absolutely fantastic. She ensured everyone had enough time to take photos and ask questions. Please ensure you check if the tour your choose includes the entrance ticket as this is where I got stuck but as I arrived early, the line up was small to purchase one. Also, correct walking shoes is a must.

We were 10 mins late for our tour due to the cancellation of an earlier train from Sorrento. We informed our tour guide Pierluigi right away through Whats App and he promptly replied. It was very kind of him and the small group who waited for us. The tour is informative and Pierluigi is very knowledgeable. Happy to be part of this tour!

Our guide Antonio is so knowledgeable and funny. We loved our experience. Pompei is big so not all of it will be covered by the tour, just the key parts. The rest you can explore afterwards or right before.

Our visit to Pompeii with Antonio as our guide was a fantastic experience that capped off years of curiosity about the site. Antonio excelled in making sure everyone in our group had a chance to get the best view, take the optimal photo, and really experience the best of Pompeii. His personal insights were helpful in better understanding the history of the city. Even after the tour he suggested additional parts of the site to explore, and the following day even provided high quality photographs . The tour would not have been the same without him.

We did this experience earlier this month with Antonio and had the best experience possible. He took us around the site in a way you'd never naturally wander to ensure we saw the best bits, then asked us if there were any aspects we wanted to know more about/ see for the last half an hour to ensure we got what we wanted out of the experience. He was full of interesting facts and details and seemed genuinely enthusiastic, not like he was reciting a script. Lovely guy and made the experience better than we could have imagined. Do not do Pompeii with just an audio guide, you'll miss out on a lot.

Our guide Antonio (an archaeologist), was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about Pompeii and the ongoing work to excavate and preserve this historical site. We left this tour with a much better understanding of the life of the Pompeii people and the events that led to their demise. Our favorite part of the tour was the area under current excavation. With Antonio’s knowledge, we felt like we were getting a behind the scenes tour and he later shared photos from that area, as taking pictures was not allowed. The group size ( about 12) was ideal and two hours was the perfect amount of time. I can’t stress enough the importance of wearing comfortable shoes. We don’t do many guided tours, but this one is a must!
