We joined Kanae to browse a market. We had fun looking at all the food (mostly fish) and asking questions. Kanae bought some fish and then took us to her house, a beautiful place on the edge of the mountain and we cooked lunch together. Lovely!

Mrs. Kanae welcomed us and took us to the local market where we had the chance to witness the locals selling fish and vegetables. She then took us to her lovely house and welcomed us in. Throughout the whole experience Kanae has been nothing but delightful to us. She modified the menu because my partner does not eat meat and she has responded to all our numerous questions on Japanese cuisine and culture. She enlightened me on the four basic pillars of Japanese cooking and i cannot be anything but deeply thankful to her for the time she shared with us. Grazie mille di cuore Kanae-san! Hope to see you again

Loved our cooking class with Kanae in her beautiful home surrounded by mountains and falling snow. We were collected at the meeting point by Kanae and then driven first the local fish and food markets where we purchased our supplies for lunch. Surprisingly, a tranquil and quiet experience wandering through the market places. The fish markets back home where I come from are a bustling and stinky affair, but not here. Everything is beautifully presented , pristinely clean and calm. Then onto lunch. Kanae will teach you how to cook whatever you like and I had requested a seafood dish which turned out to be a lip smacking, umumsi bomb of home style salmon, spinach, miso and dashi. Will be cooking this at home. We loved our day! Highly recommend this activity. Thank you Kanae for a great day!!!!

My friends and I had the best time with Kanae on the local markets tour and cooking class. Her English is very good and she is very kind, thoughtful, and interesting, answering our many questions. She is also a wonderful cook and taught us to make several delicious local cuisine dishes in her home. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with her.

Kanae picked us up in her car at the subway station and drove to a local seafood market. She spoke very good English and was very friendly and helpful. We learned about all the different kinds of Hokkaido crabs and edible seaweeds. There was fresh giant Octopus and Scallops at the market. Back at her modern hillside home, she showed us how to prepare miso soup and spinach with crushed sesame seeds from scratch. The main dish was baked Hokkaido salmon with assorted vegetables and a miso paste sauce. It was delicious 😋.

We visited the local fish/fruit/veg markets (which was amazing !!) and explained different fish and Ingredients and then went back to cook with Kanae-San - who is such a lovely lady 💜 had so much fun with her. She gave great instructions on how to cook. It has to be one of the nicest meals I have ever had. She is one the most kindest lady I have ever met - (thank you Kanae for an amazing morning 💜)
