Punta Arenas
Welcome to Punta Arenas! We will be waiting for you at the meeting point in the Port of Punta Arenas to begin our tour. Plaza de Armas Our tour begins at the Plaza de Armas, the heart of Punta Arenas. Here, you’ll marvel at the historic buildings surrounding this iconic square, reflecting the economic boom from sheep farming and the introduction of sheep from the Falkland Islands, a period known as the white gold era.
Punta Arenas
Braun Menéndez Regional Museum Next, we’ll visit the Braun Menéndez Regional Museum, a splendid example of architecture from the “white gold” era. This museum offers insights into the region’s history and the lives of one of Patagonia’s most influential families.

Nickolas (Niko) was our guide who was well informed about the spots he took us too, and Miguel was our Driver. I enjoyed them and the fact that it was a small group was excellent. Viator needs to update the description because the Braun Menendez museum was not open and I googled it and found it had closed June 2025 for refurbishing. Niko did take us to Maggiorino Borgatello another museum but we had to pay a $5 admission fee, cash. The cemetery was amazing, and the monumento al shepherd was really interesting as well as the Magellan statue in the city square. They also took us to maritime monument - bonus! Not in the description but should be. Niko was so nice we went to the city sign and he got out of the van and took the picture for me. It was the end of the tour and I was cold…. All in all a wonderful visit. Viator might also want to include it is a very windy place and you should dress appropriately!

If you get Paul as your guide you are in amazing hands. He is knowledgeable, good fun and also very flexible to accommodate your wants/needs. Having said that the organization needs to update their website with regard to fees and admissions. There is an admission fee to the cemetery and we went to a ship museum, not the museum stated in the itinerary, which also had a fee.

This city tour was a little disappointing. First off, the bus left the port area late due to two members of the group being delayed on account of the port authority preventing the tender boats from docking while a fishing boat unloaded. The tour was advertised as an all inclusive price, yet we were asked to pay admission fees to the cemetery and the ship museum. Because of the delay described above, tour was shorter than the 3 hours we expected.

The tour was very poorly organised we didn’t start by going to the Plaza de Armes. We went to the Braun cemetery went in then got called back and we had to pay. The tour states free admission! Then we went to the view point followed by the chocolate shop. Then taken to the national museum given an hour and dropped off because no parking space. When we went in none of us could pay because you had to pay cash driver did not tell us this. Went back out side and the men had to flag the driver down on the other side of the road got picked back up. Then he asked if we wanted to go to the dinosaur park none of us did. We said we just wanted to see Plaza de Armes so he took us eventually he walked to the square with us after we looked at the statue we asked about going to the Braun museum so he walked us down only to find it is closed for renovations! We left after that and made our own way back to the cruise ship. A wasted morning on the whole. Surely a tour guide should know if things are closed or if you need cash to enter etc

Due to high winds we were unable to stop and tender into Punta Arenas . I contacted the tour group as soon as we’re were informed and without hesitation they gave us a full refund.
