This is a unique opportunity to visit the home of a local and explore traditional culture and cuisine. After a private boat ride down the Tha Chin river to Aoy's riverside home, your host Aoy will greet you with a refreshing drink. Next join her in her kitchen (indoors or outdoors, depending on the weather) for your authentic Thai cooking class. During this hands-on cooking lesson you will learn to prepare from scratch two of Aoy's favorite Thai dishes. Aoy will share her deep knowledge of Thai herbs and spices and passion for cooking as you cook together in her studio kitchen that is also used by her other cooks for the restaurant or a quaint, outdoor garden kitchen she runs from her home. Be prepared to roll up your sleeves and chop vegetables, pound spices, and laugh as you cook together with this charming and fun-loving host! Call her when you grab your ride. Makes it an easy transfer. Definitely say yes to the flower market and the original floating market. Enjoy sampling the various fruits and small bites. After that.... the best is yet to come. You will take a private driver ride arriving at her restaurant where the she will have you prepare three delicious dishes. I learned some great techniques for preparing this yummy and medicinal meal. All ingredients were fresh and loaded with flavor!

This was incredible! Her team picked us up from our hotel and gave a personal tour of a huge flower market and food market explaining the history and letting us taste special fruits and seasoning. They purchased their favorite market food and snacks for us to try. We then took a boat down the river to Chef Aoy Marungrueng’s restaurant where she gave us a personal hands on cooking class with recipes. We learned how to make a simple Thai tea, pad Thai, Galangal with coconut milk and shrimp soup, Thai green papaya salad and sweet sticky rice and mango. Chef Aoy is an Iron Chef and personally taught us her techniques for cooking these traditional Thai recipes. What a wonderful time! I highly recommend!

We joined Aoy on the cooking class during our most recent trip to Bangkok and we were thoroughly impressed. You get to see a different part of the city during the market and temple visit - what a joy to have a local show one around like this! The cooking class itself is well presented, very interactive and a lot of fun. The food itself was delicious and the atmosphere incredible.

This experience far exceeded my expectations! Aoy is vivacious and full of energy. With her warm, engaging personality, I felt like I already knew her. She picked us up at our hotel and took us first to a beautiful flower market. The next stop was a huge food market that included a food court where we sampled some of her favorite foods. We reached her lovely riverside restaurant (Aoywann Riverside Thai Cuisine) and cooking school by way of her charming wooden boat. The setting of her restaurant is a tropical oasis on the river. Oh yeah...and the food was amazing. Aoy pours her heart into all she does - you will love her!!
