  • If you have a passing interest in the night sky, then this is a must.

If you have a passing interest in the night sky, then this is a must. The staff were incredibly knowledgeable. The tout of the night sky was informative, fun and the views breat Kitted out with EWC ( Extreme Weather Coats) we were wrapped up warm against the elements, the location was sheltered from the wind. the telescopes were staffed by extremely knowledgeable staff, who were more than happy to explain the basic and complex. The setting with mountains all around with stars, planets and the Milky Way over head was breathtaking

Had a great time up at Mount John Observatory. Our guide and other astronomers were very informative and I think everyone learnt a thing or two about our solar system.

Most interesting experience. We had to wait an extra nights to go up, as weather was cloudy. The ground crew were very informative, with the situation. The crew on the mountain were fantastic, with their knowledge. Apart from the cold, we were warned, it was great. I would do it again in warmer times, without a full moon, so we could better see the Milky Way.

  • Just the best star gazing experience

This was an amazing experience. I have been a keen star gazer for many years but have never seen a dark sky like this one before. There were three experts on hand who were well qualified and showed me things that I did not know.
