Lake Taal
Boat Ride & Volcano Viewing: Hop on a motorized boat and cruise across the calm waters of Taal Lake for a close-up view of the majestic Taal Volcano. Enjoy the cool breeze and capture stunning panoramic shots of one of the world’s smallest yet most active volcanoes. Taal Volcano is one of the Philippines’ most active volcanoes, located on an island within Taal Lake in Batangas. It’s unique because it’s a volcano within a lake, inside a larger caldera. Despite its small size, Taal has erupted more than 30 times in the past 450 years, making it one of the most dangerous volcanoes in the country. The 2020 Eruption: On January 12, 2020, Taal Volcano erupted after 43 years of dormancy. It spewed ash plumes up to 15 kilometers high, blanketing nearby towns and even reaching Metro Manila. The eruption caused widespread evacuation and created new craters and fissures, permanently changing the landscape of the island.
