What To Expect
The tour starts at 10am inside the Port of Thessaloniki, across Eleftherias Square (in front of the white mast). Our hosts will take you by the hand on this journey where you will enjoy tasty food and immerse into the richness of local life. Along with delicious bites, throughout the tour you will enjoy stories about Greek culture, customs and traditions. We’ll go through the very heart of Thessaloniki, an area that reflects the character of the local food and tradition. You’ll experience a total food immersion and an explosion of tastes! At the flavorful venues you wouldn’t find on your own, you’ll have a taste of the real local life. On this tour you’ll try out something new, from seafood, to meat and snacks. Of course the amazing local market (open Monday to Saturday) will liven up the whole journey! We’ll take you to the top pastry shops in Thessaloniki with some seriously incredible sweet delights where you will have the opportunity to make some sweets yourself! 5.00We had a great time in our tour with Anastasia. She was fun, knowledgeable, and gave us a great tour tailored to our pace and interests, since our family of 3 were the only people in the tour. Anastasia pointed out interesting sights, told stories, gave us some Thessaloniki history and brought us to fun and tasty food places. All in all a highly recommended experience!

5.00This tour was a great way to experience Thessaloniki and find out where all the food places and bars were hidden. We did this on our first day and we returned to many of the places again for a longer visit. Our guide was very good and knowledgeable about the history of Greece and Thessaloniki. Would recommend to anyone. 6 hours seemed like a long time for a tour but the time disappeared.

5.00This tour is the best way to experience the winding backstreets and hidden gems of Thessaloniki. Our guide knew the city inside out. In between visiting multiple cafes and restaurants, we popped into small shops and market stalls selling lovely Greek products; visited multiple monuments in the city; and saw people making local crafts first hand. All in all, I would highly recommend this fantastic tour of Thessaloniki!

We thoroughly enjoyed the well planned out root of all the stops and the recommendations we were given for restaurants, shopping, bars etc. Recommend doing this at the start of your trip as it is an excellent way to get to know the city and get your bearings. 5.00We opted for the 6 hour tour as to be honest it’s not often you have the opportunity to go on such a long tour and discover lots of different flavours along the way. Our tour started with delicious bougatsa and flowed onto an intro of the market, a cultural coffee and lots more from fresh seafood to some of the best gyros in Thessaloniki. Danai, our guide, is passionate about food and Thessaloniki and knowledgeable on both topics. We walked away from the tour culturally enriched and very full! It’s a little on the pricey side but given the group size (there were only 4 of us for the first 2.5hours and the rest of the tour was private), the number of tastings and the ability to tailor to your taste (you’re given lots of opportunities to share likes and dislikes etc. ) it’s worth it. Thanks again Danai for a great experience!
