The old town of Toledo was declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage City since 1986. On our tour, we will walk along streets and squares full of history, demonstrating the sheer wealth and splendor of the old capital of Spain, the city commonly known as “the City of Three Cultures "
Jewish Quarter of Toledo
The oldest written documents that we have from Jews in Toledo are from the fourth century, in the Roman era, although it is possible that they established themselves in the city before then. On our tour, we will walk through the narrow streets of the old Jewish quarter, visiting the main monuments and underground archaeological remains that made this Jewish quarter one of the most important in Europe.

Not only was she very personable , but she was also very knowledgeable about the history of Toledo and the various cultures that have inhabited the city through the centuries. As an American, it is a bit difficult to conceive of a history that dates back so far! She brought the history to life for me. A lovely tour. Thank you, Sonia.

5.00We’ve just completed the most amazing tour with Javi, he made the Jewish quarter come alive with his knowledge and attention to detail .. we were even able to access the basement of a house which he had privileged to have keys to which was a recently found Jewish house Javi was always mindful that it was our tour to customise as we wished and was delightful company .. I highly recommend this company

5.00Our Toledo tour with Javier was nothing short of spectacular. He was so welcoming, warm, and energetic. He truly went above and beyond and explained everything with great detail and passion. My daughter and I were able to learn so much about the Jewish history in this historic city. He took us to two different synagogues and showed us the various Jewish symbols throughout the Jewish Quarter and even brought us to a place with unique history outside of our itinerary. We were so lucky to have him and this experience was the highlight of our 11 day trip which originated in Granada, followed by Seville and Madrid. Highly recommend him!!!

5.00Toledo has the best Jewish quarter of any Spanish city. While there are only a few remaining actual sites, the synagogue is spectacular. Archaeological evidence keeps appearing. Our tour included a brief overview of Toledo and the cathedral as we walked towards the quarter. As we walked Javi graciously shared his experiences as a Spaniard and the challenges of society. Strongly recommend Javi and this tour for a most informative and inspiring experience.

5.00This was a class act from start to finish. Pablo made the arrangements, with recommendations for transportation and lunch. Sonia met us at the train station, and took care of everything from there — taxi to show us the views, visits to the synagogues and a “Jewish home” with a wealth of information about the history of Jews in the area. And she made sure we knew how to get to the sites we wanted to see after her tour and to the train station after that. We had a wonderful day and would highly recommend this company and Sonia.
