Sites visited during this tour are subject to occasional closures due to holy observances, high tides, and flooding. If a site closes, your guide will tour the exterior of the site. If time permits, you will be contacted before your tour. For last-minute closures, modifications may be communicated at the tour start time.
Basilica is a holy place, both men and women must wear clothing that covers the belly, shoulders and knees.

I felt that 3 hours was too long in the heat and two would have been more than enough time. Lots of standing around in the same place listening to lots of history, some of it interesting but some of it not.

The tour was informative, but not interactive. My kids. (18 and 14) lost interest about an hour into the tour.

The guide talked constantly like she had to fill the silence with gibberish. With the accent we couldn’t tell when she was taking about something important or just making conversation. She took way too long in the beginning. It must have been 40 minutes of talking before we got going. Then we rushed through the basilica. Viator and Walks in Europe said this was a small group but it was way too big and as usual with a big group every stop we made was crowded. We should have just bought a self guided tour ticket in advance.

Our tour guide was Claire and she was very enthusiastic. She impressively remembered all 24 names of the whole group and even remembered us when we saw her in passing again 2 days later. I appreciated the fact that she found seats for us at the beginning to do a bit of an info dump. I would have liked to had a little more time in the armory section, but it was so big there was only so much we could see. My only negative is that the guy who was handing out the audio guides was wearing what I felt was an unprofessional shirt that said something like “I’m not antisocial, I’m anti-stupid”. A shirt with the tour company name would have been more professional and expected
