This tour was absolutely amazing! Our guide, Sam, and our driver Mina ensured that we smoothly navigated through Cairo while providing us with fascinating information about each incredible sight. Sam's passion and knowledge of the history made the experience even more enjoyable. We started our journey at Sakkara, then visited Memphis, the Giza Pyramids, and the Sphinx. The lunch at a traditional Egyptian restaurant was also delicious. Overall, the entire experience was fantastic, and I couldn’t recommend it more!

As an educated man myself, my tour guide (Wael) fascinated me with a wealth of unknown knowledge. This was a truly worthwhile trip filled with unexpected gems not included in the package.

  • Great tour with a great guide, Sam

Sam was a great tour guide. He was informative and helpful. When we said we did not want to ride camels (as we had ridden them in Morocco recently), Sam very thoughtfully tried to find something else for us to do instead at no extra cost. Sam was also very good about working through the lines to try to make any weight that we had as short as possible. And at lunch, Sam was watching the restaurant staff to make sure that we were getting a high amount of attention. All in all, a very, very good experience with a very, very good host.

  • Disappointing. Avoid the random detours, stick to the itinerary

Overall, the experience was disappointing. I was looking forward to the Giza Pyramids, it was supposed to be the highlight of my 10 day trip in Egypt, and at the end of the trip, this was probably the poorest experience I had. Feedback for the operator: Stick to the itinerary or at the least, make the detours optional. 1. Stop at Pyramids- for the reputation it carries, I don’t think we were told enough about the pyramids, and sounded like the guide read through Wikipedia and repeated it to us. While we didn’t want to enter the pyramids due to how crowded it would have been, the least we could have done is spent more time here. We stopped at the corner of the first pyramid, in front (yet far from) the second pyramid, and next to (not in front of) the great sphinx. The guide started the trip with “I know the best photo spots”, and yet the spots were objectively not (or even close to) the best photo spots. In my mind, we were always “going to or close to” the pyramids or the sphinx after wherever we stopped for photos or explanations - only to find out that that was it. Extremely disappointing- we just took a tour from afar! 2. Itinerary- while there are 3 spots mentioned, our guide took us to several detours for shopping (scarf, perfume, spice, bazaar, papyrus, carpet), despite our clear resistance that was expressed verbally. The papyrus one was interesting, the others could have been avoided. This is obviously a commission earning scheme for the guides- I feel cheated, especially because I feel we didn’t spend enough time on the main items and feels like we were rushed to make time for things that were not in the itinerary. 3. The guide- Marsil was friendly, however, didn’t give us too many details or explanations. It felt like she read up and repeated it to us. we opted for an English speaking guide, yet we struggled to understand Marsil. After a while, it felt pointless to ask questions since both parties were struggling. Perhaps it was our difficulty in understanding the accent, but we didn’t face this trouble through the remaining 8 days of our trip. 4. The Driver Mahmoud - driver was nice and kind, was well prepared for emergencies. There was a car on fire somewhere on the way and he stopped to help, had a fire extinguisher in the boot. No complaints.

The monuments are amazing but the planning and guide were a let down. Guide - was not knowledgeable and wanted to talk about other things such as his views on AI. Sequence - we did not start with Giza, which was the highlight of the day. Instead we did Sakara and Memphis (totally avoidable spot) first, and by the time we hit Giza it was packed. Time at venues vs other places - guide was more interested in taking us shopping at the expense of time at the monuments. Overall, this was a let down. Do not recommend.
