Black Desert
the black desert is a region of volcano-shaped and widely spaced mounds, distributed along about 30 km in western Egypt between the White Desert in the south and the Bahariya Oasis in the north. Most of its mounds are capped by basalt sills, giving them the characteristic black color,
The Crystal Mountain is a crystal ridge located between Bahariya Oasis and Farafra Oasis
White Desert
White Desert National Park is a national park in Egypt, first established as a protected area in 2002. It is located in the Farafra depression, 45 km north of the town of Farafra. Part of the park is in the Farafra Oasis (New Valley Governorate). The park is the site of large white chalk rock formations, created through erosion by wind and sand. It is also the site of cliffs (at the northern end of the Farafra Depression), sand dunes (part of the Great Sand Sea), as well as Wadi Hennis and oases at Ain El Maqfi and Ain El Wadi. The highest point in the park is at El Qess Abu Said (353 m above sea level) and the lowest is at Wadi Hennis (32m). The park serves as the refuge for various animals, including the endangered Rhim gazelle and the vulnerable Dorcas gazelle, as well as Barbary sheep; jackals; Rüppell's, Red, and Fennec foxes; and Sand cats.

It was a very good experience. The experience of camping and sleeping in this empty desert was amazing, as was nature. The tour guides were very kind and there was nothing wrong with it. There were times when there were flies in places to eat, but in Egypt it was a common occurrence, so there was nothing I didn’t like at all. I was given a tent to sleep in, but when I asked if it was OK to sleep in a sleeping bag outside, I slept outside, but it was a rare experience as I suddenly opened my eyes and saw a perfect starry sky spread in front of me. Recommended for those who like the great outdoors. The tour guides were very enthusiastic, especially a young man of about 20 years old, who was very witty and very personable, and they got together around the campfire at night. Overall, it was a good experience. I want to come to Egypt when I visit.

Best tour but quiet short time at each spot. Food prepared was fresh and delicious. The tent/camping prepared was comfortable too.

unforgettable experience! A detailed itinerary was given to us the night before the trip, telling us what to bring down to the conditions of the toilets available from Cairo to Bahariya Oasis. The drive to Bahariya Oasis was long but we had several stopovers to stretch our legs, get some snacks and use the toilet. We arrived at the Safari Camp just in time for lunch and were given free time to check out the compound. Saw some camels and pigeon houses. While the sites we visited were beautiful and definitely worth the visit, nothing beat the actual camping experience. Our group had stayed out late into the night/early morning, chatting around the campfire. Had a few tour guides join us when their group fell asleep and sang. It does get a little chilly at night but recommending sleeping under the stars instead of inside the tents if you don’t mind the sand!

It could be better if there is toilet which I’ve been to desert in Morocco and the setting is much better there The sleeping setting is not good while we were disturbed by sands for all night.

I am not sure i can even find words that’ll do this trip justice. Me and my brother did this together and it was such a good thing to experience together. The desert as a whole, and both the black and white deserts, are deeply special places. Beautiful, fascinating, other-worldly, quiet, massive, moving, still. It made us feel in a place of some kind of infinity; outside of civilization.. just beings on earth. The different landscapes are breathtaking. We loved having Hazem as our driver and guide. Being a passenger in the landcruiser with him was such a blast!! So much fun. And a blessing to also feel safe driving through such an unknown environment. The starry sky at night was another wonder. The different kinds of stones, crystals and fossils were beautiful. This tour was rich in experiences. If you love nature, you should 100% do this. If you love natural history, do it! If you need to get out of bustling Cairo for a little while, do ittt. Thank you so much for this experience! Thank you so much Hazem.
