Make sure to request Shane as your guide! I’m a tour guide in Alaska and was specifically interested in the Navajo connection to our local Tlingít community. I was so impressed with how much he knew about the area, culture, and connections to other indigenous groups! Bravo excellent experience!

  • An Enjoyable Tour

I chose this Waterhole Canyon tour over the Upper Antelope Canyon tour to avoid big groups and the feeling of being rushed through the tour. My guide for Waterhole Canyon, Brian, provided interesting information about Native American culture, wildlife within the Canyon, facts about the Canyon, and how to take good pictures in the Canyon. He was warm and personable. The tour didn't feel rushed at all. The formations within the Canyon were pretty, as were other areas of the Canyon. I thoroughly enjoyed my tour.

BRian Smallcanyon was an awesome guide and we had so much fun. Our experience was unforgettable. Highly recommend. I e also did the lower antelope and frankly they are both fantastic but I may have liked waterhole because it was longer.

We chose this tour as we heard it was not as busy as some others. Totally correct. We had our family of 4 and another couple in our group. Our guide, Brian, was the nicest and most knowledgeable person we could have possibly met. He explained so many fascinating details about the history, formation, and geology of the canyon. He even showed us how to do some extremely cool photographic tricks with our iPhones. The trip alone was amazing but Brian made it all the more better!

Booked the photography tour. When I arrived I found I was the only one on the tour. I expected they would cancel since I was the only one there. Instead the guide Shane took me on a personal tour of the canyon showing me all the best locations for photography, gave me plenty of time, great explanation of the canyon and slots, and gave me a history of the Navajo's Nation, that itself was worth the price of admission. Saw some wildlife including native spiders and an owl. If you go ask for Shane. If you like photography, book the photographers tour with Shane. Shane is a longtime photographer. It's worth the extra.

  • Would 100% recommend this tour !!

We had an amazing time, the canyons were sooo beautiful and our guide Ryan was super super nice, he gave us tips on how to take great photos of the canyons, and he knew how to answer all of our questions about the canyon. I would definitely recommend this tour, it is so worth it !!! Bonus was that it was just the 2 of us (plus the guide) on that hike so we got to enjoy it even more compared to all the crowded tours there are in other canyons.

  • Add Waterhole to your "MUST DO" List

This tour takes you through three quite different slot canyons. We were the only ones on the tour, so we had our guide all to ourselves. Ryan was not only friendly and funny but very knowledgeable and made sure we took advantage of various photo opportunities. I have also done upper Antelope Canyon and lower Antelope Canyon. Those are beautiful, but Waterhole Canyon is one to add to your must-do list!

  • Not your average canyon tour

Not your average nature tour! Although it was a short walk through three slot canyons, the depth of information we gained made this tour worth it. Our guide Shane was extremely knowledgeable about the land and canyons. We also learned a lot about the Navajo Nation and their traditional teachings. Listening to Shane’s flute music in the canyon was surreal. We recommend this tour for those wanting to not only see the canyons, but also wanting to understand their history.

  • Great guide.
