We had an amazing time, the canyons were sooo beautiful and our guide Ryan was super super nice, he gave us tips on how to take great photos of the canyons, and he knew how to answer all of our questions about the canyon. I would definitely recommend this tour, it is so worth it !!! Bonus was that it was just the 2 of us (plus the guide) on that hike so we got to enjoy it even more compared to all the crowded tours there are in other canyons.

This tour takes you through three quite different slot canyons. We were the only ones on the tour, so we had our guide all to ourselves. Ryan was not only friendly and funny but very knowledgeable and made sure we took advantage of various photo opportunities. I have also done upper Antelope Canyon and lower Antelope Canyon. Those are beautiful, but Waterhole Canyon is one to add to your must-do list!

Not your average nature tour! Although it was a short walk through three slot canyons, the depth of information we gained made this tour worth it. Our guide Shane was extremely knowledgeable about the land and canyons. We also learned a lot about the Navajo Nation and their traditional teachings. Listening to Shane’s flute music in the canyon was surreal. We recommend this tour for those wanting to not only see the canyons, but also wanting to understand their history.

If you are reading reviews to decide whether or not you should do this tour, the answer is, do the tour! We had the whole slot canyon to ourselves (one tour group of 7 people). Our guide, Brian, did not rush us - in fact the opposite - he allowed us time to absorb what we were in the midst of. He took beautiful photos for us. He was peaceful and serene as was the whole experience.

Bryan was our tour guide. He was great. Took amazing pictures. Wear sensible shoes. Not your everyday shoes. The hike in was good but the stairs at the end were tough. I should have worn my knee brace.

We chose Waterhole Canyon over Antelope Canyon because we wanted a less photo-centric tour and fewer crowds...and we got what we wanted! Three slot canyons all to ourselves, and a really personal, rich experience. No one else had booked our time slot, so we ended up with a private tour with Shane -- a truly MVP tour guide (with 10+ years of experience)! Shane not only answered all of our questions about the formation of the canyons, but also shared so much of his heritage and personal experience growing up in the Navajo Nation. (He did know how to capture great photos too :D) Thanks Shane for your authenticity, humor, and openness - this was definitely a highlight of our trip!

Our group had 17 individuals for the 1.5 hour, 2 mile walk through three amazing canyons. Our Navajo guide had interesting stories, helped each group set their cameras for the best photographic experience, stopped at the best photo locations in volunteered to take each group picture at each individual stop. There are ladders, steps, narrow passages, etc., that require dexterity, but our guide offered a ham to each traveler at each tricky spot. The three canyons on the trip are increasingly amazing. The first is a shaped with a wide bottom and very narrow top while the other two are V shaped with very narrow and more challenging agility required and are increasingly amazing. This is truly a once in a lifetime experience.

We made plans to visit Page, Arizona last minute after being forced to cancel our original vacation plans in California due to terrible flooding. We tried to schedule a tour of Lower Antelope Valley (through another company) but because it was last minute the tours were all booked up. We found this tour of Waterhole Canyon as what we thought would be our “consolation tour”. But, after having taken the tour we now feel we lucked out and it was actually an “upgrade” to what we had originally hoped for! (Note: my husband has now taken both tours and had said that each has its pros and cons in different ways and are therefore not directly comparable so we will likely take another tour of the Lower Antelope on a future trip) Our tour guide, Brian, was fabulous! He made sure we never felt rushed, pointed out all the best places for photos and even took family photos for us that turned out amazing! He even taught me a lighting trick on my iPhone for more successful pictures! We loved him and our teenage boys said the tour was their favorite part of our entire vacation! There’s a few locations on the hike that require minor rock scrambling, climbing of narrow ladders and squeezing through very narrow areas. This was briefly mentioned on their website and was super fun for our family but is something to consider before scheduling. For reference, we had a 10:00am tour in December.

We booked this tour almost by accident—just 12 minutes before the bus departed—and it turned out to be absolutely incredible. The slot canyons were stunning, with plenty of squeezing, scrambling, and climbing down ladders that made the experience feel adventurous and immersive. Shane, our guide, was outstanding: knowledgeable, entertaining, and genuinely passionate about the landscape. He shared fascinating insights into the geology, took countless photos for us along the way, and even played the flute in one of the resonant slot canyons—an unforgettable moment. Highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a unique and memorable experience.
