Hell's Gate National Park
Begin with 7am pickup in Nairobi, then travel to Lake Naivasha and Hell’s Gate National Park, with a break to get views of the Great Rift Valley from a scenic overlook along the way. Upon arriving in the park at roughly 9am, begin a 2-hour, guided bike/walking tour: watch for beautiful rock formations, herds of Thompson’s gazelle, eland, zebra, giraffes, warthogs and hartebeest as you ride. Keep an eye on the sky throughout the tour, as Hell’s Gate National Park is home to more than 100 species of birds, including Verreaux’s eagles, augur buzzards, vulture, and swifts. Continue on foot into the park’s distinctive gorges, where narrow passageways and caves are sunk into sedimentary rock. After a 1-hour walk, depart for Lake Naivasha, then head to Naivasha Marina camp for lunch (own expense). Note: If you cannot bike, you can tour the park with the vehicle, the driver/guide is happy to stop for photos of wildlife and scenery at no extra cost
Lake Naivasha
For an additional fee of $25 per person, you can explore Lake Naivasha wildlife on a 1-hour boat tour. Spot the hippos that linger just at the surface of the water, and see some of the diverse birdlife; African fish eagles, lesser flamingos, African spoonbill, and little grebe are all common here. At 4pm, begin the return trip to Nairobi, and finish the day with drop-off in Nairobi at roughly 6pm.

We had an amazing tour to Hells Gate National Park and Lake Naivasha. Our driver, Isaac, was kind and full of knowledge about the area - it was great getting to chat with him to and from the park / lake. Such beautiful scenery! Getting to bike around the park was amazing and highly recommend opting into the boat ride. You won’t regret it! Thanks for a great day, Isaac!

Life is funny 😆 sometimes! It’s not just about the journey but about the people you meet! My All’Star guide Innocent 😇 proved that! His dedication to his work and dedication to his clients went far beyond my expectations! If life finds you in Kenya 🇰🇪 you have to make this journey! Yes! You’ll be tired 😴 by the end of the day, but sometimes you need to sweat 😓 a little too reach your dreams! Between the bike 🚲 ride and hiking 🥾 and my added lake / boat 🛶 adventures, I’ll admit that I retired early last night! Thanks again for being INNOCENT 😇

The trip was absolutely fantastic. Patrick was an excellent guide and driver. Hell's Gate did not disappoint. We had the option to ride bikes in the park, but chose not to because it was 8 km one way and we weren't really prepared for that. We followed another couple riding bikes and stopped frequently and got out of the car. There were many times when zebra or impalas were right near us and the car. Of course, the views are breathtaking. We were also guided by Reagan, who was extremely knowledgeable. He gave us so much information and answered any question we asked. He carefully led us into the gorge and safely out. Both guys had great personalities and senses of humor. You should absolutely pay for the boat ride on the lake. It gives you a completely different view of the beauty of Kenya. We saw hippos and many birds, as well as the amazing mountains, volcanoes, and clouds. It was absolutely an unforgettable experience. My 13 year old daughter had a fantastic time. Don't hesitate to book this tour with this provider. You won't be disappointed.
