Nairobi National Park
Start your day with a 6:00 AM pickup from your Nairobi hotel for a 5-hour tour to Nairobi National Park. Joined by an expert local driver/guide, traverse the park’s wildlife trails to spot lions, giraffes, ostriches, hippos, white and black rhinos, buffaloes, and other wildlife. Visit the iconic Ivory Burning Site Monument during the game drive, which concludes around 10:30 AM. Next, head to the renowned David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage to observe rescued baby elephants as they eagerly drink their formula. Afterward, enjoy an optional coffee break. The tour wraps up with a drop-off back at your Nairobi hotel around 2:00 PM.
Keepers introduce each baby elephant orphan, sharing touching stories of their rescues while the playful calves guzzle milk, wallow in mud, wrestle friends, or take dust baths. The one-hour session (11.a.m to 12 noon) highlights the Trust's vital work in hand-rearing these infants until they can rejoin wild herds.

If you have a free day in Nairobi, this tour is a must. As the description suggests, this tour will take you to Nairobi National Park (there's a separate $80 entrance fee for the park that the guide will help process for you when you get there) to start with. And then, inside the park, there is an elephant orphanage (Sheldrick) that always has a show at 11 AM. Entry to that is a separate $20 fee (cash only). After that you leave the park and drive to Karen, to the Giraffe Center, where you will get to feed the giraffes. This tour was excellent! Very professional from start to finish. Julius, who runs the operation, is responsive and clear in his communication re instructions. Evans was my guide and made everything easy--he suggested we leave early, and sure enough, we were first to get to the park. He was so full of facts about the animals and the park; it was such a joy to learn from him. He took into account that I had just come from Samburu--so he pointed out distinctions between Samburu and Nairobi. He is so knowledgable, and despite being an experienced guide he clearly still enjoys what he does--we both took such pleasure at just sitting quietly with the big cats that he so expertly found. He also accommodated my curiosity and took me on an unscheduled visit to Kobe Tough bead and leather shop--all because I expressed curiosity about traditional bead-making.

Our driver and guide Peter was very good, he was there waiting for us outside of departures, he was very informative about all the animals and birds we saw on our drive. It was very cold in the morning, luckily we had just flown in from London so had warm clothing. The elephant orphanage was very good and the Giraffe centre was very informative and we got to hand feed a couple of giraffes.

First time to Africa. Park and excursion well worth our time and Julius was a fantastic guide! We got to see animals I never thought I would seen in their natural habitat. Excellent experience and worth the price, thank you so much!

The experience could not have been better. Julius knows his stuff and if you are a bit of a nerd he is the guide for you. His personal interest in the wildlife and personalableness meant this was a great day out. An interested, knowledgeable guide that is relaxed and good fun is the holy grail. The private tour was absolutely worth the flexibility. Can't recommend highly enough.

Just completed a fantastic safari at Nairobi National Park and couldn’t be more impressed! Our guide was exceptional - knowledgeable, professional, and had an amazing ability to spot wildlife. The entire experience was seamlessly organized from start to finish, with no wasted time or confusion. What really stood out was how much we managed to see in such a short timeframe. The guide knew exactly where to go, maximizing our wildlife sightings without feeling rushed. We saw an incredible variety of animals and learned so much about the ecosystem. The service was worth every cent. Everything ran smoothly, and the quality of the experience far exceeded the price point. Highly recommend for anyone wanting an authentic safari experience close to the city. Perfect for travelers with limited time who don’t want to compromise on quality! Rating: 5/5 ⭐

What an amazing trip. We saw 4 of the big 5. It was great. One thing to note you still pay entrance into the parks and venues. So you’ll need to bring cash for the elephant orphanage

Absolutely enjoyed this tour! Out guide Evans was very knowledgeable and helpful, the Safari van was perfect for watching the animals. The elephant sanctuary was a bit crowded but still a special experience. Note that it makes sense to download the Kenya citizen app before you leave and book your ticket to the park to save time and also take cash money for the elephant sanctuary entrance fee.
