Hazel was extremely knowledgeable about Costa Rica and our driver was excellent. Hazel went out of her way to ensure all guests had a good time. Loved the Monkey House!

This tour was a very busy day. The tour guide was very informative and answere questions from all of the bus. The down side was the small leg room. For tall people the seating limited leg room. We went to see wildlife in a neighborhood house and macaws. The photos were priceless. The guide used a binocular to take a photo with my phone. The moneys were very friendly and approached and sat on shoulders. Next we went in the mangroves and saw birds along with a photo guide to identify them by name. The crocodiles were adult to babies! Then lunch was on a mountain in another area with stops to see amazing views. The lunch was in a private mountaintop area with more amazing views. Costa Rica was such an amazing place. We went through a store for shopping then drove back toward port tons see the oldest church before drop off near the sign and ship.

A MUST if you are in Costa Rica!! Really good guide and driver. Explained a lot about the coubtry and region. We saw lots of monkeys, birds and crocodiles. A fantastic lunch was included with a breath taking view. If you arruve Puntarenas with a cruise ship, they will pick you up just at the cruise port! Thank you guys for making beatiful memories with us. We will be back again for sure!

Albert our guide was very informative. The van was cool and airconditioned. The monkey experience was unforgettable and the Tarcoles River boat tour yielded so much wildlife.

Giving this tour a five star rating because it surpassed expectations in all major areas. The driver was awesome. Took extra care to drive the smoothest path over some bumpy roads. The tour guide Hazel was fantastic. Very competent in English. Interesting and informative commentary. Polite and helpful. They also taylored the tour around our ship's schedule which was shortened on this day by ocean tides. The operator didn't communicate until the day prior that the short time in port was not a problem and we were still going ahead as planned. Would have been nice to get that news earlier. Almost canceled because of the scheduling uncertainty. The tour itself was a bit overblown. Parts of the itinerary were not worth the effort to get to. There is a long drive to a scenic view, not the best time spent for a short visit. I actually would have preferred more time in the souvenir shop than being on than ride. There also was not enough time in Puntarenas, but traffic and crowds were the problem that restricted bus moving around in the town. Only a B rating for the crocodile boat ride, because there was a toddler onboard that was disruptive, as was the mom. The child and mom were totally not paying any attention to the tour, and the child was troublesome, noisy and messy. There should be a minimum age for this boat ride. Otherwise it was a great experience to see the crocs and all the birds. On another part of the bus tour was the Macaw viewing and that was a big success. We were able to see at least a half dozen had gathered to eat. And Hazel set up a telescope and used guests' phones to make pictures and videos. Spectacular. The white-faced monkey habitat visit seemed awkward, like the monkeys not really wild. But most people loved it, feeding the monkeys and having them climb on you. Lunch is LATE in the afternoon. We finally had lunch at 3pm. Glad we saw this in another review and had energy bars with us. Lunch was tasty. Chicken, fish, beef or vegetarian option for the protein. We had chicken, but the fish looked very good. No one in our group had vegetarian. Beef looked ok, but one of two people with this dish didn't eat hers, or any of her meal to be honest, don't know why. Was fine. Lemonade included. Beer and soda available for a price. Overall, for the price this 10 in 1 is a remarkable excursion around Puntarenas area down to Tarcoles. I think the little annoyances of my tour like the disruptive child were a one-off type of problem. Costa Rica is a garden. Take this tour and be amazed.

We had a great day with Hazel as our guide and Elmer our driver on an OydessyTour in Costa Rica arranged by Al Varro. We got to see and feed the Capuchin Monkeys, stopped at a farmer’s market and tasted locally grown fruits that were incredibly ripe and sweet. We then toured the River Tarcoles where no less than 5-8 crocodiles were visible up close, as well as tons of great unique birds. Hubby is a bird lover, and this was a highlight for him. It included lunch at a local mountain top restaurant, which was fabulous. We all about licked our plates clean! And of course, time for souvenir shopping. What made this tour extraordinary was that Hazel is an avid photographer and she brought along her long lens and tripod and got incredible pictures for us of anything we wanted. We stopped several times on a hare’s breath to get out and observe the local wildlife. The macaws were literally breathtaking they were so gorgeous. Hazel’s English was outstanding and her historical knowledge of the area was impressive and comprehensive. It was a great value for the money. However, be prepared to pay cash, as they charge a 13% credit card fee. I highly recommend this tour.

Hazel our guide was very knowledgeable, and provided good insights to all places. We were picked up outside port terminal, in a clean mini bus and taken on the road to a fruit market to try several fruits. We then travelled further to a great sightseeing up a high altitude rainforest whereby we seen many birds (Toucan /Macaw) to name a couple. We then proceeded to the main highlight to catch a river boat to once again see all sorts of birds, and crocodiles, this was a great experience. Onto a trip for lunch which was very nice, and then back to Puntarenas stopping on the way to a very large gift emporium Overall a very good trip and good value Highly recommended Big tip :- Do not pay ridiculous Cruise trips book independently!!

Excellent day out - monkeys, boat trip , rainforest and butterflies along with a lovely lunch and views. Good info from guide who spotted a beautiful toucan and other birds. It was full on tour well worth the price - better than the ship excursion

We absolutely loved this tour and our tour guide, Hazel. The monkey House stop was a highlight. Our only reason for giving it a 4 and not a 5 is because we did not stop for lunch until 2:30. We made a stop at a view that you had to pay to go in, no one wanted to, so we left. That wasted time that we could have just gone to lunch. Other than that, it was a great tour!
