Take a trip high into the treetops where you can zipline through the clouds on a course that is 2 miles long and includes a Tarzan swing. After this exhilarating experience, take your time to float through the clouds as you walk on the notorious hanging bridges, walking on eight different bridges with various lengths ranging between 150 feet up to 510 feet. Embrace this time to appreciate the beauty of nature and breathtaking views around you.
Monteverde is privileged to receive a steady supply of clouds and the life-giving moisture that they contain. This moisture, often in the form of fog, catches on the branches of the tallest trees and drips down to the other organisms below. This helps to support a complex and far-reaching ecosystem, one that harbors over 100 species of mammals, 400 species of birds, tens of thousands of insect species, and over 2,500 varieties of plants, 420 of which are orchids alone.

This review is going to be split as this company who's selling this tour are not associated with the actual company that runs the zip line and the hanging bridges at salvida park.. I'm going to start with the crew who assisted us with the zip line and the photographers as well as the staff for the hanging bridges were absolutely amazing, wonderful people and the experience was phenomenal. However, this company that's selling this tour are not associated with salvida park. They are a third party who are only purchasing your tickets in advance for you, which you can do directly from salvida park. The time they gave us to be at the park was meaningless and had nothing to do with actual zip lining or the hanging bridges. So we are still trying to figure out why they told us to show up at a certain time, when it had no relative meaning. I highly recommend doing the combo tour. However, book it directly with salvida park and save yourself at least $20 per person.

I’m so confused by this. The hanging bridges and the zip line were amazing and I would highly recommend. But there is NO REASON to book this tour through Viator if you’re doing the self drive option . I’d advise to go directly through the park. You save $40. Through the app, I was made to believe I’d be meeting a group at Selvatura Park. My partner and I waited for over an hour. We contacted the company who said we could just check in and do the activities. I’m not sure what we paid this company for, it www so frustrating and directionless

The staff was super friendly and worked in sync to get the large (16-20 ppl) through all of the platforms with minimal waiting. The Tarzan Swing was a highlight as well as the final zipline that was 1 km. Great canopy views! The suspension bridge hike also had some great views. We did the self-guided hike and I would definitely recommend as we could spend as much or as little time at any one spot as we wanted. After the adventuring we ate a delicious lunch at the restaurant on site. Definitely recommend the veggie quesadilla and the fish tacos!

Overall, what an awesome experience. :) It was a looooong day (4 hr drive each way from the coast, 5 am pickup) so prepare for that with snacks, headphones to use your personal devices and maybe a sleep mask or hat for the drive. We had a small group and everyone fell asleep on the way home. You do make one bathroom stop during the drive. We got to stop at a store where we purchased some snacks. While our tour guide and driver mostly ignored our group on the drive, and was mostly focused on the organization/schedule. Our guide did join the hanging bridges walk and was enthusiastic in sharing lots of cool interesting information about the plants and wildlife. There are 8 bridges in total with beautiful views of the rainforest. The first 4 are the easiest and you can stop and turn around to head back if you need more accessibility, as the next 4 involve a bit more hiking (still fairly easy/moderate but some steeper portions). I learned that there was a lot more hiking during the ziplining tour, so in advance, I would've considered skipping the last 4. The bridges are fun to experience, but definitely remember they are high and can sway a bit when there are many people on them and windy. It is still very cool! The ziplining tour was much more strenuous, but soooo fun. You are put in a bigger group and assigned some ziplining guides. Our tour guide did not join during this portion. You walk into a room and the crew places the equipment on you. You then follow and walk to a platform before the first zipline and are giving safety instructions on how to brake and hold. Then off you go! The first few ziplines are easy and quick, from one line to the next as the guides are efficient in moving everyone along. You do feel safe the entire time. The adrenaline you get is unreal! Two of the ziplines are tandem and give you the most amazing views! There are 13 ziplines in total, and you have the option to do the Tarzan swing at the end. Most people did it and enjoyed it! It's not as tall as it seems so not too bad. We tipped the guides well because they did great at communicating, adding some light humor to make it fun, and making you feel safe the entire time. I'd go through the Selvatura Park again. We even had a family with small children who joined the activity. The crew added extra guides to ride with them for safety. These two activities occurred between 930 and 1 pm, the first took 1.5 - 2 hours and the zipline was 1.5 hours. When you are done with the canopy/ziplining tour, you enter a giftshop area where you can purchase photos and video of your experience. We had about 15 min to change, and then we headed to lunch further down the mountain at a great restaurant (fancy and delicious). You are given the option for the traditional Costa Rican casado dish with chicken, beef, or fish. We had about 45 min to 1 hour here. Then the long drive home! A must do experience in costa rica!
