Are you looking to see the best of Ketchikan in a short time with a chance of wildlife? The Tongass Trolley tour is for you! Enjoy the sights while your Guide shares Ketchikan's colorful history in a replicated 1800's cable car trolley. You begin the journey with a short drive past an eagle's nest to Saxman Native Village where you will disembark to experience the largest collection of Tlingit and Haida totem poles. Your Guide will share the rich cultural story each totem tells while you walk around the grounds of the village. The next stop is at a small cove for an opportunity to see wildlife. Of course, wildlife is never guaranteed, but there is a good chance of sightings at this location. The last stop is a short drive to Rainbow Falls where you will stop to enjoy a photo op in front of the beautiful falls. After a scenic coastal drive back to town, we will drop you at the historic district of Creek Street or back to where the tour began. You will love where we take you!

It was unfortunate that it was raining buckets when we had the tour (May2025) but our tour guide was still enthusiastic & very informative. We were fortunate to see 3 juvenile eagles very close. Alaska is a beautiful place.

We enjoyed this! Our host was great. He was VERY knowledgeable and taught us so much interesting facts. We also got to see deer and bald eagles being fed. Our kids were a little bored but it was good for the adults. When I booked this it asks you where you want to get dropped off, at Creek Street to shop or back where you got picked up. I opted for it to drop us back where it picks us up at port. While coming to the end we were informed we had to get off at Creek Street, that they only go back to the original pickup if it is the last one of the day. We booked an 8am shuttle time. We had a very short time in port that day and we did not have any time to even explore Creek Street as we then had to wait in a line that took an hour to get on a bus to make it back to our cruise ship.

Juan was wonderful. He knows his stuff about Ketchican. Great commentary throughout the ride. Juan made sure we saw everything in the tour description.

Our guide, Juan, made the tour very interesting and we learned some cool details about what makes Ketchikan special, the history, the culture, the natural beauty of the area. Because there was a small group of us, we took a very nice van around for our tour instead of the trolley, which worked very nicely. Toured the Totem Heritage Center instead of the outdoor Village, due to heavy rain at times, which was a nice swap. Enjoyed our time out and about with Juan, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to others!
