What To Expect

Nine Holy Cannons

9 cannons that Hue artisans cast in Gia Long’s second year (1803). Nine cannons are considered as one of the most valuable bronze works of art. The ancient nine cannons were placed at the foot of the Imperial Citadel, at the entrance of the Ngo Mon Gate – the imperial city of Hue. During the reign of King Khai Dinh, they were relocated to their current position.

Our tour guide - Vy - gave an excellent guided tour through the citadel. We were educated about the history of Vietnam, its Emperors, and Vietnamese culture in general. She took us for coffee afterwards and gave a gift afterwards. I’d highly recommend Hue and this tour.

Very nice visit of the Imperial city, our guide Bem was fantastic, it was a 3rd visit for me and I discovered again new things about the life and history of the palace. Bem’s enthusiasm for his work is infectious, I highly recommend the visit with Bem.

Thanh was super nice to both of us. She was so thoughtful all the time with us, she explained everything very clearly and we really enjoyed learning with her about Vietnam’s history. A must if you visit Hue!!!!

i expected to learn more about the History of that place ...the truth is the guide showed us what is each place but she did not tell much about the History ....She spoke good english and was kind but i could get more information from the signs.... Inside each palace were always alone through everything ....she didnt tell smth about what we saw inside ....Furthermore she wrote messages in her mobile like all the time ... Maybe she was not historian and thats why she didnt know much ... But we were disappointed and we felt that we didnt learn much
