Monastery Sevanavank

Embark on a full-day journey that beautifully blends Armenia’s natural beauty, history, and spirituality. Depart from Yerevan and head north toward the legendary Lake Sevan, often called the “Pearl of Armenia.” Nestled high in the mountains at about 1,900 meters above sea level, Sevan is one of the largest freshwater alpine lakes in the world. The sparkling blue waters and cool breeze create an atmosphere of serenity and wonder. Climb the steps to the Sevanavank Monastery, dramatically situated on a peninsula that was once an island. Founded in the 9th century by Princess Mariam, the monastery offers breathtaking panoramic views — a perfect spot to reflect and capture unforgettable photos.

Garni Temple

The journey continues to the Temple of Garni, a striking example of ancient Armenian pagan architecture dedicated to the Sun God Mihr. Standing proudly above the Azat Gorge, the temple’s Greco-Roman columns and scenic mountain backdrop make it one of Armenia’s most photographed landmarks. Here you can experience a short Duduk performance, filling the air with hauntingly beautiful Armenian melodies. Just a short drive away lies the Geghard Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site partially carved into the surrounding cliffs. Dating back to the 4th century, this sacred complex is named after the “Holy Lance” that was once kept here — the spear said to have pierced Christ’s side. You’ll have the chance to enjoy a mesmerizing choir performance inside its acoustically perfect stone chamber, where voices resonate like a divine echo.

Myself and some colleagues spent five days in Armenia and received wonderful guidance and tours from Tatev with the help of Lida. I would highly recommend their tour company as everything went as planned and they made sure that we had all we needed to enjoy our trip and also to have fruitful business meetings. Thanks again for everything and we hope to visit again.
