Fancy a tour in a small group away from mass tourism? Experience Ålesund with a passionate local guide, full of insider tips and unforgettable moments.
Our tour begins at the Fisher Boy sculpture, a symbol of Ålesund’s maritime heritage, where you’ll learn how the clipfish trade shaped the city’s rise.
As we stroll along the waterfront, we’ll explore Norway’s engineering marvels : tunnels, bridges, and the world’s first ship tunnel. We’ll also highlight the oil and gas industry, including how Norway invested its wealth to secure lasting prosperity.
Then we turn onto King’s Street, home to the city’s highest concentration of Art Nouveau architecture, reflecting international influences after the 1904 fire, still visible in ornate facades today.
The tour concludes with a breathtaking harbor view, plus insider tips for restaurants, shops, and a free brochure to help you make the most of your stay.

Lukas was a great guide for a small group on a wet Alesund morning and provided some great info on the town, Norway, and took us to some great spots. His guidebook he shared with us at the end of the tour was also full of useful recommendations for other things to do and places to eat.

Would highly recommend a walk round Alesund with Lukas. He was very knowledgeable when talking to us and had information on his iPad to complement this. A good way to start a visit to Alesund.

Lucas was great! He is very knowledgeable about the area and shared lots of information. He also suggested restaurants which we tried one already and it was the best salmon I’ve tasted in Norway. Highly recommend his tour.
