We're located just a few minutes walk to the magnificent La Jolla Cove. Which is a protected marine wildlife preserve, steaming with aquatic life and lush vegetation. We provide functional sanitary and quality equipment, our r&d has been done through years of testing in the a Jolla type of topography. Our gear is specially engineered to last for these this area with the coarse thick sand and cliff reefs. We care about our customers so created a VR video tour of the cove to guide and navigate the cove & caves. Guests can leave their gear in our complimentary lockers so they can have a carefree experience in the water

What To Expect
La Jolla Outpost is committed to clean and functional equipment. I'm an avid snorkeler myself and I thought to myself, " If I was on vacation why would I spend money on a mediocre snorkel set that I have to pack into my suitcase after only using for a couple hours and never use it again. Why isn't there somewhere I can rent quality snorkels at reasonable prices.I love seeing people from locals and/or travelers getting out and seeing the beautiful aquatic life that makes The Cove so special

5.00I maybe didn't pick the best time to attempt snorkeling, being high tide and according to several people rough out in the water. All that to say I had a great experience, getting the wetsuit was easy and the people were helpful and friendly.
Good deal to enjoy seeing wildlife in the pacific.

5.00The suits and gear were fine. Nice to get an all day rental for a discounted price. Ask the locals as you walk around their favorite spots to go. We found some neat areas with close parking to walk down to the water by a restaurant and found leopard sharks, sand sharks, stingrays, and lots of little fish to see in 4-6 ft of water.

1.00Such a scam the water is very dirty smells like poop from the sea lions not a lot of fish to see and very strong waves kept getting the nasty water in my mouth all in all not worth it at all

1.00Paid to snorkel in an area where the waves were crashing against the shoreline with big rocks that we were thrown into. Very difficult to navigate. Only saw a two kinds of fish. Lots of floating seaweed and other plant life to constantly weed through.Not worth the snorkeling experience AT ALL. The only cool aspect was the sea lions laying on the beach, but you can have that experience for free.

5.00We rented the equipment and walked to La Jolla Cove from the rental place. We had a great time. Sea lions and birds swam around us and there were a lot of fish. It was fun. I would recommend!!

5.00We had a great experience. The staff were professional and helpful. We did not get to snorkel in La Jolla cove because the lifeguards told us not to go out due to the waves coming into the cove. We returned to the rental office and they offered to refund the rental fees even though we had already taken the equipment down to the cove. If I could give them more stars I would. They are a great business. We also found the most reasonable prices on souvenir shirts in their shop. I highly recommend this company and I recommend checking the surf report on the day you plan to snorkel.

5.00It was a seamless process from start to finish. The hardest part was finding parking because it was a holiday. The employees were wonderful and helped fit us for wetsuits and flippers. We were able to keep them all day and there were multiple places that we could snorkel throughout La Jolla. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t great but there’s nothing to be done about that. Would definitely recommend!
