Ancient City of Ephesus
Our first stop is Ephesus, famous in antiquity for its Temple of Artemis during the years of the Roman Empire, the Greek port of Ephesus became the greatest city in Asia Minor. You will start your Ephesus excursion at the upper Magnesia Gate, and work your way down through the city, ending near the ancient Harbor. Along the way you will see the Forum, the Odeon, the Library of Celsus, the Thermal Baths of Scolastika and the Great Theater, built in the Greek era and reconstructed in the Roman period. It has played host to programs as varied as Paul and his sermons to the Ephesians, to concerts by Sting, in part due to its remarkable acoustics. You will walk along the Arcadian Way, where once Mark Antony and Cleopatra rode in procession. You will hear stories of Alexander the Great, the Virgin Mary, and many other famous visitors who walked the same marble streets that you are walking.

Fantastic tour- everything was easy and convenient . Tonsu was our guide and she was the sweetest! Also very knowledgeable. Lunch was great. We felt comfortable walking away from the rug sale and didn’t feel over pressured. Tonsu also flexed our tour to be more interesting for our pre-teen/ teen children in tow .

Had an amazing day with Gorki and our driver who took us to the must see sites. They knew the best times to arrive for each location and we avoided the lines!! We had a wonderful lunch and loved shopping at a local ceramics shop! I highly recommend this private tour, could not beat the value to have your own guide!!

We loved our tours of Ephesus, Artemis and The House of Mary. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the area and the ruins. We enjoyed spending our day with him. Absolutely loved our traditional Turkish lunch! We were taken to a small center with a restaurant as well as a couple of stores. Our lunch was set up in a gorgeous outdoor setting. We all agreed that the food was, by far, the best we ate on our entire 11 day trip through the Mediterranean! The only drawback was being taken to a couple of high pressure stores which we did not expect. The first was a leather store, which I will say had some beautiful pieces. One out of our 8 purchased a bag. We were also taken to a rug store located where we had lunch. Totally enjoyed the demonstration of the rug weaving as well as the demonstration of harvesting silk. However, we were taken back to a showroom and shown at least 25+ rugs then had salesmen split us up by couples highly encouraging us to buy one. That being said, we had a wonderful time and would certainly recommend it. My only suggestion is to ask the guide if they plan to take you to any of these stores and if you’re not interested, tell them.
