Our tour will begin on the farm with a welcome drink. While relaxing in a shaded part of the farm, we will present our community movement and teach you about how we grow our organic produce. After enjoying the welcome drink, we will walk along the community farm and learn about organic farming and the unique UNESCO- protected Subak System in Bali. During the farm tour, we will pick the ingredients that we are going to use during the cooking class for a true farm to table cooking experience. Once we arrive at the centre of the community, Mai Organic farm, we will drink a refreshing juice made with vegetables and fruit from our local farms. Following the drink, we will prepare six Balinese dishes, such as tuna sate and corn fritters. Students are able to participate as much or as little as they would like. Lastly, you will enjoy your meal in a tranquil gubuk (hut) with new friends from the tour. By supporting Mai Organic Farm, you are supporting a community of local farmers from Pejeng. Our movement aims to support the local farmers' and villagers' income while providing them with resources to improve their quality of life.

We had a great time at the cooking class. We particularly enjoyed picking all the herbs, fruit and vegetables in the surrounding fields that we then turned into food. Great hosts and a fun morning. Highly recommended.

We have lived in Indonesia for 8 years and this is our 6th time to Bali. This cooking class is one of the best experiences we’ve ever had traveling, and we have been to lots of cooking classes before. You get to go out and pick most of the ingredients (the veggies) off the plants, and you are fully involved in the entire cooking experience. The young guys who lead this class are amazing: they are fun, have great English, and are very eager about what they do. We sat around for probably an hour after we ate and just chatted about their life, soccer (football), and all sorts of things. We were there for probably 4 1/2 hours and it is the highlight of our trip to Bali so far. Highly recommend!!

Harvesting and preparing the herbs and vegetables for the base components and sauces. Utilizing the outdoor grill and fire stove to prepare the meal. Staff were fun and engaging through the entire experience.

I did this cooking class on the last day of my trip, yet it was the undefeated highlight of my entire vacation. My instructor (korong I think) was the bubbliest, most knowledgeable person! I was laughing the entire class. The scenery was immersive and authentic. The food itself was delicious. I could not recommend more.
