Gazpacho, paella, crema catalána with a splash of Sangria! Muy Rico! Great job Chef Diana and Mescaladis. I loved learning the theory of why they cooked a dish a certain way vs other ways of preparing the same dish in different regions of Spain. Also the variety of how we prepared the dishes had us using fun kitchen tools most don’t have at home. Besides the torch use lol, I felt like it would be accessible to recreate these dishes at home. The class was affordable for the breadth of experience and it had a good length of a few action (& eating) packed hours. I would highly recommend this experience and this kilómetros cero restaurant to others!

I really enjoyed the experience. Diana, the instructor, was super clear and fun, and made the whole process look so easy! We prepared a menu of gazpacho, paella and crema catalana, in a very simple way. We learned about Mezcladis and the amazing work they do to support people who want to pursue a career in gastronomy and how they get jobs at the end of their program. I think it's brilliant. Food was amazing and we even got to enjoy a nice glass of sangria with it. Totally recommend if you want to experience a new way of catalan food and life.

Absolutely loved this cooking class!! Diana led us expertly through a well-timed three course meal; while we enjoyed tasting the gazpacho, the paella was finishing up for us to eat leisurely before adding a sugary finish to the crema catalana. Everyone was responsible for some part of the meal, and we took turns with the especially fun parts like blending the gazpacho. Diana enriched the experience with stories of food throughout Spain, so we learned the types of paella by region, as well as how to make it. She also accommodated different dietary needs; we made a veggie paella with the option to add butifarra. And the final products were SO delicious!!! You can really taste the fresh, local ingredients. Thank you for a wonderful experience!!

This experience was probably the best one I ever had. It was my first time taking a cooking class and the environment was fantastic. It was very welcoming and understanding about Spanish culture. Instructor was insanely hilarious and made everyone feel welcomed.

Great experience with Chef Diana!! We cooked a gazpacho, a paella, and a Catalan cream. In addition to being delicious, the chef sent us the recipes at the end so we could reproduce them at home!! I had a great time, friendly and warm, with people as passionate about cooking as I am!! 🥰 It made me want to cook more and learn more about Spanish cuisine ✨

My experience at the Melcladis cooking class was amazing!! Before the class even started, I knew it was going to be fantastic. Jaime reached out to check in on all food allergies/restrictions and gave clear instructions about the meeting place and time. Any doubts we had, she swiftly answered and resolved. Once we arrived, the space was clean yet cozy. The staff greeted us and were so friendly, inviting us to sit down and drink some water while we waited for others to arrive. Our chef did an excellent job not only teaching us how to prepare gazpacho, paella, and crema catalana in a warm and approachable manner, but also discussing the cultural significance of each dish and how many countries and regions can have their own versions. She was highly knowledgeable. Hearing about Melcaldis' mission to cook with social impact was great. This is an organization that lives its values from the classes they provide to newcomers in Barcelona to all of their fresh ingredients being locally sourced. All participants had varying jobs to do at every moment, and we even got to try a little as we went along. We had so much fun--- cannot recommend this enough!

The experience was so much fun! Each recipe was so hands on and I learned a lot through the whole class. Not only did we learn the recipes, we learned their significance and stories behind each one. Would definitely come again!
