Begin at the Boqueria Market, one of the top food markets in the world. As your guide leads you through the patterned walkways, you’ll learn about Catalan food traditions and even enjoy a tasting of nougat and olives.
Next, explore the scenic Ramblas promenade. Soak up the energy of this former market and snap a few photos of open-air cafes, and the unusual Miró mosaic.
In the Gothic Quarter, discover the Santa Caterina Market, the city's first covered market, with an undulating, colorful roof and ruins of a medieval monastery.
We’ll also stop by a caganer shop to hear the story of one of Catalonia’s strangest traditions. Then visit the church of Santa Maria del Mar and finally El Born Market, a striking building now housing the remains of the Born neighborhood.
Upgrade to end your tour with a special tasting of cured meats, premium cheeses, Catalan tomato bread (pa amb tomàquet), and wines, led by a professional sommelier and your guide in a private room just for our group.

We walked to the market from a cruise ship and was welcomed by Eoghan. He was personable, knowledgable and laid back. He kept a slow pace we could keep up with and gave us the history of Barcelona as well as the history of the markets. He had us sample some of the specialty foods and gave us time to shop. We so enjoyed our time with him and the group we were with. Best tour so far! Thank you! Would definitely recommend Eoghan and Viator.

Eoghan is a great guide. He was very involving and involved by himself. He know a lot of things even out of the tour topic. But where is the wine?

Callum was fantastic It’s been such a wonderful day! I really enjoyed trying new things and learning about the history and culture. As a solo traveller, the whole experience felt especially meaningful. I ended up buying something at each venue because I loved them all so much—and I even went back to the olive stand to get more after discovering how delicious the flavour combinations were. I’m excited to bring home a few of the items I’m allowed to travel with so my husband can share in the experience, too.
